As a Wii U owner, I own a total of 6 games for my Wii-U. 7, come starfox. Only slightly less then I own for my Dreamcast.
Am I happy with my Wii-U purchase? I'm okay with it. I'm not exactly praising it as a great console or the best library ever. to be honest, its pretty mediocre. The only reason I'm not completely disatisfied with my Wii-U is its backwards compatability with the Wii. It allows me to play my 30+ Wii games and still enjoy No more heroes, Resident evil, Metroid prime, and such as well as my Wii-U games.
If PS4 had this, i'd be on board. My PS3 has about 30+ titles, but so far the PS4 has about 5 titles I'm interested in. But because I lose the compatability with PS3, its a much lesser investment.
I don't particularly want another huge box on my stand when i've got nothing but 5 proverbial games to it. Older consoles were compact and easy to organize and put away. The PS4 is a behemoth.

- The way in which Bloodborne's plot is unveiled to the player is the same as the way that Souls games handle their narratives.
- Player character generation is the same.
- Character progression/level ups are the same, including leveling up by speaking to a friendly NPC in the hub area and spending souls/blood echoes earned by killing enemies.
- Stats and stat requirements on gear are mostly the same.
- The mechanic in which you must retrieve your souls/blood echoes after dying and risk losing them forever by dying again before doing so is the same.
- Friendly NPC interaction is generally the same.
- Items on the ground being represented by a glowing light and almost always being attached to NPC corpses is the same.
- Having a main hub area through which you can warp to other areas reached through exploration is the same.
- Lighting bonfires/lanterns to access new respawn & warp points is the same.
- The on-screen messages that appear when the player dies or kills a boss are nearly identical.
- Reading messages left on the ground by other players and leaving messages of your own is the same
- Seeing phantoms of other players while playing is the same.
- Being able to touch bloodstains to see how other players died is the same.
I could go on for a long fucking time. If you think that Bloodborne isn't a Souls game in everything but name, you're being willfully oblivious. For god's sake, the working title of the game was even "Beast Souls."

That's some cherry picking garbage. Last Guardian being a continuation of SotC? Also it's not guaranteed that a franchise is stale just because there's been a previous game in the franchise. Star Ocean/Final Fantasy hasn't had a game for years, Ni No Kuni only had one game in the franchise, Odin Sphere/Nier is fresh, Bloodborne feels substantially different than other Souls games, each Persona game is pretty different and there hasn't been a new Persona for like 7 years. Comparing those games to a stale yearly franchise like call of duty/assassin's creed is just stupid
