They have something like 80 billion dollars in the bank. They can afford to spend ten years making new IPs and seeing what will work.
Nintendo is too safe these days. They kind of struck gold in the 80s with the NES and used the money to create the IPs we know today. They're not investing in new ideas or trying to capture a new audience anymore.

Nintendo isn't publishing on multiple platforms like "every other company" that rehashes.
