Nostalrius was the only decent server, that actually had an MMO-tier population. Everything else is shit, with corrupted GMs, incomplete/bugged content, low population, the list goes on.
Whenever a good server pops up that is worth playing on, it eventually gets shutdown. So why bother? Unless you want to play on a shit server, it won't last forever. If you wait for a good one to pop up, like Nost, it eventually gets killed off by Blizzard. So what's the point? Blizzard is just reminding the players of such servers that they're the ones calling the shots. And they'll keep doing it whenever another Nost pops up.

From what I know, the people selling gold were 3rd party, not Nost's staff. Sure, you could say that Nost was providing them with the means to do it and getting a cut, or even doing it themselves, but that's all guesses, and you can't really prove it, neither can I.

Warmane (old Molten-WoW) has been around for ages. Their servers are all absolute shit. Bugged to hell and back, pay2win store, faking player counts, corrupted GMs, you name it. They do have SOME population, but not even 1/10th of what Nost had.
There are dozens of much better servers than anything Warmane has.

The content that matters is bugged as fuck. Only the last raid (ICC) will work properly, and even then, it's still mediocre in comparison to other servers. All the other raids are broken. I'm pretty sure they haven't even fixed Ulduar after like 3 years, I remember going inside it with friends and flyhacking with the demolishers to kill bosses.
Oh that's another one, cheating is rampant in those servers, no one does anything about it, even in Battlegrounds.
Server crashes also happen daily, it's fucking awful.

By the way, that server is obviously faking its population, like other Warmane servers did before. If you go on their website, it shows 11k players online, server cap, but in that video, Stormwind has like 20 or 30 people on it. That's bullshit.
And to add to that, Warmane changed its name from Molten-WoW to Warmane back when they got their databases completely cleaned by an old staff member. Completely wiped, with no backups. That's the kind of people running that server.

Do you know how long it takes to get a Shadowmourne on Warmane? Because last I checked, the droprates on Shadowfrost Shards were completely fucked, and it took almost a year of farming ICC every week. Alternatively, you could just shell out 70€, like a lot of people do.

Unless someone is paying 200-300$ for gear that is not even best in slot, you won't see many people walking around with full sets of bought gear. You will likely see quite a few people with bought mounts though, or maybe it is just those are the most noticeable.
