The tutorials, my friend. Use them to really memorise those combos. Plus there is a 2nd Encore dlc that adds Trial mode, to help you perfect hit combos.

Man, I stopped playing Skullgirls for a while and in the interim they added Beast of Gehenna for Double. That REALLY confused me since it changed the inputs for one of her supers.
I like Double a lot. I'm a bit of a sucker for characters with a wide variety of attacks in their moveset and Double definitely has that. Plus, she has an amazing design. her monstrous form is really interesting to me, I love it.
Too bad I'm shit at the game and even shitter with her. It seems I'd probably be better with a grappler according to my friends but:
A) They ain't Double ;and
B) Fuck those 360 inputs

I kinda wish more of her attacks involved monstrous forms as well as the shape shifting into other characters. It would be cool to get a super double with new attacks, perhaps something like her pod form in the story ending.

Very true. I liked how her level 3 super (forgot the name) has her rapidly transform between characters and Beast of Gehenna is suitably monstrous but I wish there was more attacks of her monster self. Or even her nun self.
I know shapeshifting is her gimmick but I wish there was more of Double as Double.
I also wish they tone down her voice distortion because I literally have no idea what she's saying half the time.

Buying an arcade controller won't automatically make you better. Honestly, it's mostly for those who played fighting games in arcades to begin with.
Plus, you'd need to learn how to use the damn thing and how to get good with it. Not to mention not all arcade controllers are compatible with all games.
Not only that, you'd need to cough up for a decent one since the cheap ones will fall apart on you.
The main allure of the arcade controller is that it has all the buttons you need on one side (unlike a game controller, where buttons can be spread all over the place) plus a joystick thing which can make some inputs easier for certain people. The idea is that it makes pushing buttons easier since it's all dedicated to the one side.
The thing is...
If you're using a keyboard, you can just map all your keys and achieve a similar result. Having all your attack buttons on ASD ZXC and using the arrows to move is similar to an arcade stick anyway. All your buttons are on one side. Your moving inputs are on the other.
Honestly, it's really something that ideally you should test before you buy. You might love it. You might hate it. You might only see marginal improvements that aren't worth the price at all.
I'd recommend hitting up your nearest arcade and spending a couple of coins trying to use arcade machines. See how you like the inputs.
Does it work for you? If so, great! If not, just stick to keyboard!
Don't listen to anyone saying you HAVE to use an arcade stick. They're probably just tryhard posers who want to look cool and are more concerned with street cred than actually having fun with and being good at the game.
For some reason I just can't get into Skullgirls. I can literally get into any other fighter (well, except the new MK's) but I can't enjoy this one.
It's a shame though, I like that qt Egyptian girl.

I know it'll never happen but it'd be kinda nice if Double was updated so it had moves from the newer characters too. Of course, there's really no way to do this without just replacing existing moves outright and that is just an invitation to disaster.
