I don't think I've ever made it through the snow or the hangar stages without losing a life or two.

I was playing through the first Mega Man a couple days ago and was so fucking close to beating it without dying (or using the elec man glitch), but the boss rush right before the last Wily fight left me with too little HP to survive the fight.
On that note, Mega Man 1 is way fucking easier than 3 or even 2, fuck 3 is probably the hardest mainline game that I've beaten.
