It's kind of like the MMO experience rolled up into 30-45 minute matches where you get to make a new "alt" each time and learn to do it better and faster. It kind of has the same appeal as roguelike style games, that "maybe this time I'll clean house" thrill that keeps you pulling the slots and playing again and again.
The continuity per match but reset on each run makes it really addicting, because each little victory in a given game means a lot and you can carry that hard if you know what you're doing but each match is a clean slate to try something new or do it better and get ahead of everyone all over again. It's always evolving and every little action contributes to how things play out.
I mostly play Dota but I'm pretty sure this shit is the same in LoL so it probably applies. These games are like heroin, once you start playing them nothing else is good enough. I can't really play shooters anymore because the game doesn't evolve as the match goes on and there's less to get invested in.

I think the implication is that fiddle requires a bit more game knowledge. Gank paths, typically warded areas etc.
His damage has been nerfed so hard that unless you get a perfect ult off you contribute nothing and will lose by picking him.

The only thing that can be considered strong about fiddle is his fear and even that has such a long cooldown that you just pray for someone to come and help you during those 2.25 hours. I've played a lot of Fiddle, he's my most played champ but after you use all your spells and your ult you're pretty much a walking target

Yes there are win conditions but there are different ways to approach those conditions is the point. You don't pull jungle creeps every wave for example you have to look at how the lane is pushed and make sure you don't put yourself in a position where the offlaner can contest it. In LoL it's just the same laning assignments every game and the only real difference in how it plays out is whether you picked "see axe catch axe" or "See chime take chime".

Just because Champs like Rek Sai and Ahri aren't the strongest in their class per se, that doesn't mean that they can't be strong picks, especially if you play to their strengths. For example, Kha'zix will absolutely steamroll a team with no or few tanks, and counter jungles the shit out of squishy junglers. Good luck getting a master yi off the ground with a Kha'zix on the other team.
