The censorship mainly ended up mattering somewhat because the game ended up mediocre as hell. It needed all the help it could get, including from the kind of niche autistic weebs who are willing to overlook mediocrity for waifus but also happen to care about censorship, unlike the rest of the population. As things stand most people don't care because it sucked and people who might have forgiven it sucking are irritated about the censorship and delays and have other good stuff to play instead.
At this point though things not looking too hot for that franchise. They'd have to do something special to turn things around at this point, dunno if they'll ever bother with a third.

The cool thing about BD is the ability to pull out insane combos using the better class abilities. I had more fun with the game by running around in circles with auto battle on for a few hours while doing something else, and then playing with all the classes maxed out. Though this will raise your character level to max quickly, so you can turn off xp during grinding if you want.

Bravely Default was a truly shit game. I wanted to love it, and the characters were alright, but it really was a piece of shit. So much fucking filler, a very uninspired battle system (no, fuck you, it's just turn based with the slightest, slightest twist) and a boring as fuck world and setting. Relies on many, if not all, typical JRPG tropes. Could not bring myself to finish, because doing everything once or twice was enough, but trying to make me do it three times was fucking ridiculous. It wasn't hard, but purely tedious. How many times do you replay the same shit again? Bravely Default is pure and utter trash.
