Oracle of Ages or Oracle of Seasons?
>>
Both

But if I have to choose one, Oracle of Seasons
>>
>>334549930
Seasons, some of Ages design was either piss easy "move the thing in the past" or needlessly complicated (entire Goron mountain trading shit for the dungeon key)
>>
Seasons was pretty good but I had ages.
>>
Ages>Seasons

Nayru is best girl
>>
Oracle of Ages gets really obnoxious around the halfway point. Its version of Jabu Jabu's belly is probably the worst 2D Zelda dungeon
>>
Why did they do a Pokemon with this game?
>>
>>334549930
>jewing out and splitting a game into 2 versions.

fucking nintendo
>>
>>334550581
Nicely meme'd. Unless you were serious in which case, nicely meme'd,
>>
>>334550253
trying to think up excuses to use the link cable outside of pokemon
>>
>>334550242
>not mermaid cave
>>
>>334550859
Fuck off Nintendrone. The guy has a valid point.
>>
>>334549930
Seasons, made better use of the overworld changing mechanics.
>>
>>334551742
except the games are completely different, unlike pokemon where the only difference is ~10 pokemons
>>
Are these games still playable?

The Gameboy doesn't have a lot of buttons and I remember hating taking off my shield and sword to equip run and jump then take those off to equip the bracelet etc etc

I wish they could have made nature. I'd kill for another game in this style, with all the characters.

And please nintendo: I wanna see the trio return before I die.
>>
>>334551849
They play exactly the same as they did in 2001.
>>
>>334551836

Why don't you prove it, Nintentard?
>>
>>334551849
Who the fuck keeps the shield equipped ever?
Sword/Feather master race.

>>334549930
I personally found Seasons a lot less tedious, and time travel plotholes always grind my gears.
>>
>>334552443
>Different overworld
>different dungeons
>different items

completely separate games, go fuck off to another thread fag
>>
>>334550242
mermaid cave was worse
also, fuck that goron dance

>>334549930
both, as they're essentially two halves of a whole.
personally, seasons > ages
>>

Awakening
>>

>>334552443

i hate those codes you gotta enter, but at least 3ds has the notes application.
>>
>>334549930
Ages was a chore compared to Seasons
>>
>>334549930
Seasons is better.
>>
Season hands down. The Goron Dance being mandatory is the most bullshitiest thing in the Zelda Series and I hope the person that suggested this got fired.
>>
So I should go
ages first
seasons linked
right?
>>
Fuck Seasons. That shit was garbage. Ages was amazing.

Dimitri master race
>>
Seasons.

Ages has some horrible dungeons halfway through and its overworld is annoying to navigate due to the swimming
>>
ages if you like puzzles
seasons if you like action
>>
>>334558281
I got forced to him because I completed the Subrosian dancing minigame.

I wanted Rick or the giant bear. Although Dimitri proved to be very useful in all those places in the overworld with water.
>>
>>334558281
Wrongest opinion
>>
Seasons. I prefer the seasons mechanic over Ages' time mechanic, and Ages' puzzles were just more time-consuming and tedious.
>>
Seasons, I love its overworld.

Tarm Ruins is such a lovely place.

time travel puzzles > shitty seasonal puzzles

FUCK THE TOKAY ISLAND tho
>>
>>334559112
>Although Dimitri proved to be very useful in all those places in the overworld with water.
The overworld actually changes depending on which partner you end up getting permanently. It's just as well, because Ricky slows you down with his cliff jumping and Moosh is a piece of shit with those long-ass pits he has to fly over.
>>
>>334558281
Present. Loved that little shit-talking smart ass.
>>
>>334550242
I'd sooner play the Great Palace than Ages Jabu-Jabu
>>
>>334549930

I personally prefer Ages, but you'll want to start with Seasons and then use a password for Ages, otherwise a map tile becomes inaccessible.
>>
>>334558281
>you use him for literally 3 seconds in ages
>>
>>334559316
>fuck tokay island
>yet the goron shit gets a pass
>>
>>334558281
Not a bad enough dude to mash buttons with the flying bear?
>>
>>334549930
Season first, then ages
>>
Combining the two games had a little interesting bit with ganon at the end. Honestly made these games feel like a real Zelda game in the end
>>
>>334559316
>time travel puzzles > shitty seasonal puzzles
It sounded better on paper, but they never managed to pull off something genuinely good with the time travel shenanigans; and even though the seasonal puzzles may sound more tedious, they are really inventive and were better executed.
>>
>>334561627
Nah, it felt like a true Zelda all the way through; but playing a linked game was really neat, since it gives off the vibe of being "that kid" who is playing a hacked version of the game.
>>
Newfag to Zelda here.

How does the linking of the two games work? Does it give you a code at the end of the game or something?
>>
>>334563276

Yeah, or you can link cable it.

I've done both, originally through link cables with my cousin when they first came out, and passwords by myself.

Also man I loved shit in both of them, like Ages' mofuggin Roc's Cape and Seasons' Magnetic Gloves

also Dancing Dragon Dungeon niggas

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2OdHygmiJqk
>>
Grew up with Seasons, just recently started Ages for the first time. Tokay shit was pretty boring at times but overall I think I like Ages better. From what I remember, changing seasons was annoying as fuck and Subrosia just dragged on for forever, but it's been a long time since I played it.
>>
ages. played it first and was my first gbc game. both are absolutely excellent though.
>>
>>334550172
God, that Goron mandatory minigame was fucking awful.

>Jabu-Jabu's Belly in Ages

People who complain about the Water Temple and Great Bay Temple don't know true suffering.
>>
>>334563798

The Subrosian Dance is so much better than the fucking awful Goron Dance.

>>334563836

I've seen more complaints about Mermaid Cave for some reason, but Mermaid Cave isn't that bad and it's one of my most favorite dungeons, too.
>>
>>
>>334550581
So, would be okay if they sliced it up and sold as separate DLCs, with a few only accessible through Season Pass?

When I was in grade school some random kid just handed me a copy of Oracle of Seasons and told me I could keep it out of nowhere. It was pretty weird.
>>
I don't remember disliking Mermaid Cave or Jabu Jabu in Ages. Tokay Island and the Goron Dance were fucking awful though
>>
>>334551836
How dumb are you?

You don't need the two Pokémon games to experience the full story and game.

Also, online and trading would be dead in weeks if there was only 1 version with everything available in a single cart. They do this shit to make people interact.
>>
>>334564006
He wanted to be your friend, dumbass. If you had actually talked to him you might have made a life long companion and gotten to tongue some cute boy butthole too.
>>
>>334550581
They're pretty much 2 different games though, unlike Pokemon which is the same with different 'mons.

The Oracle games have completely different worlds, dungeons and items.

I would've been cool with both of them being melded into a single cartridge as a 2-in-1 deal, though.
>>
>>334549930
These are definitely two of my favorite Zelda games, I think I beat both of them when I was about 9 years old. I loved the atmosphere of Ages, but Seasons was great too.

After you beat both of them, don't you fight some huge boss or something?

Clearly the winner here
>>
>>334563487
Ages didn't have the Roc's Cape
>>
>>334563908
>but Mermaid Cave isn't that bad

Test your luck.
>>
>>334549930

Just like Dinn >>> Nayru

Seasons >>> Oracle

Probably the only good part of Ages was Veran who didn't get enough goddamn porn.
>>
>>334549930
Ages is mostly based around combat with some annoyances like mentioned before Gorons and whatnot.

Seasons is way more puzzle based and can get really fucking annoying sometimes.

This is not even a contest. Din is better.

Seasons without question.

Also Din was the better girl.

The shield becomes your best friend for no sword runs, I'm at level five in seasons and so far it's been and interesting experience and compulsion to beat both games without a sword
>>
>>334565842
Other way around bro.

Season had some bosses that forced 10 year old me to get gud for the first time.

Ages had easy combat but some trickier puzzles.

neither, both are shit

it's the most overrated one next to link's awakening/ocarina. The difference is those games are good

Dumb K. Rool poster.
>>
I could never figure out what to do in the mermaid's cave as a kid. It was the one Zelda game I never passed because of that level. Seasons was more easier than Ages.

I never saved the poor kid. Fuck you Mermaid's cave.

>>
>>334549930
I only ever played seasons, but I liked it.
>>
>>334549930
Ages is literally the best 2D Zelda
>>
>>334551849
I actually just played them for the first time recently, they're fine but what you mentioned is a tad annoying. Thankfully you don't have to do it all that often.
>>
I played both with the linked ending and then Link's Awakening recently. I prefer Seasons for a lot of reasons, however Ages is still almost as good in my opinion.

Does anyone prefer one of these games over Awakening? It's all I ever hear talk about.
>>
>>334549930
I loved seasons as a kid, but I could never bring myself to finish Ages though I've tried to play it on several occasions. I'd just always get bored of it a few dungeons in.

Good tim- actually fuck that shit desu
>>
>>334572527
It's been a while since I've played Seasons, but I played Awakening and reached around 90% of Ages recently.

I prefered Awakening because it has a better pacing for dungeons and feels more unique, but I'd have to replay Seasons to see if I can admire it better now, since it was my first 2D Zelda.
>>
These were the first Zelda games my bro and I played. Good memories.
>>
>>334549930
I love both, but I'll choose Oracle of Ages, as is the one I had when I was a kid.
>>
Does ages have the underground ayy lmaos?
>>
>>334574270
That is Seasons.

Ages has the boring Zoras.
>>
>>334557564
Goron dance was hard to master but I did.
Game gets awesome when you can do the dance

seasons is the correct choice

also entering a code from a friend for the true ending is such a cool mechanic
