What are the chances of Nintendo using the Eternal Darkness IP in any sort of form before the end of the year?

Slim to none. If they haven't announced anything regarding Eternal Darkness by now (and they haven't), chances are, they're not doing anything with it.

The tournament scene is a couple of thousand people max.
The majority of people who buy smash are kids who would be turned off by the small roster.
