Who could've possibly challenge Dante anymore in DMC universe? Are we gonna see a repeat of 4 with Nero taking the spotlight and Dante clowning around again? Is Dante gonna turn into one punch man/demon?

I'm fine with Dante being in the side of they want the plot to actually feature a villian that seems threatening but I think it's a situational thing, maybe one game could be him in the spotlight dealing with something that's trivial to him and one could be him helping Nero out, it doesn't really matter to me as long as he gets screen time

The entire series is about how Sparda's "legacy" surpassed him.
Nero and Dante managed by embracing part of their human side, while Vergil failed because he only considered his demon side any worth.

you have to be a tasteless little shit to not appreciate what that game did with color, the attention to the palettes in different scenes and stages and all the fantastic aesthetic appropriate to the stages.
the whole first stage had a bunch of unique art assets with that train ride 80s graffiti vibe.
the whole cutscenes explaining the stories had some awesome art evoking the feeling of classical religious paintings.
it not being a marvelous action game does not invalidate the other good qualities.

Sparda afterall, merely sealed the Demon Realm away, using the bulk of his powers to do it, he could have gotten stronger than Mundus but simply thought it better to seal him up instead.
since 1, 3, and 4 are literally all about Sparda and his shit, its safe to assume he's still a big deal, power wise, post mortem at least.

In terms of accomplishments Sparda is probably the winner, though I don't know if he sealed the demons you fought in DMC3 there on purpose or he couldn't beat him, I think Dante and Vergil are, in terms of pure strength stronger though.

This is the main reason I dislike DMC4 Dante, Itsuno wrote the series into a corner it can't get out of without completely abandoning Dante as the main character. There is nowhere else for Dante to go power wise, he's so super strong nothing is a threat to him anymore. He's a boring mary sue in DMC4.

He's always been a Mary sue, and I don't agree with you at all, introducing a new character doesn't mean he wrote the series into the corner, he just wanted to focus on someone else, if Dante is the star of DMC5 he doesn't have to face someone who's a threat to him personally, but if the villian is still a threat to the world at large it would still make it interesting.
