I'm a long time fan and my favorites were always the oracles games because of 2d exploration and fun.
I'm playing through links awakening for the first time on my 3ds and it's not as fun as I remember. Have I grown cynical or is this game not as good as the oracles?
I also replayed seasons and ages not long ago and loved them just as much as when I was a kid.

Pretty much any Zelda game is a good one to jump into the series.
Except Majora's Mask. Nothing wrong with Majora's Mask but I think you'll get more enjoyment out of it playing Ocarina of Time first(which MM is a sequel to).
