I'm playing the original SNES version currently for the first time in ten years and jesus fucking christ there's so many fucking routes you can take, it's so open-ended.
I completely accidentally went into Wrecked Ship from the back without even knowing it, via Maridia. I've gotten so good at wall jumping and bomb jumps that I didn't think about the fact that I wasn't supposed to take that route.
I got the Gravity suit before I had even gotten the Grapple beam.
Meanwhile, I'm looking back on Fusion and Other M going "are these really Metroid games?"
