It may have been indestructible, but its the only console I've had that had disk read errors. And I have had a lot of consoles.
Nintendo "researched" how people use their consoles. They found that people moved the console closer to them when they played. The handle was added to make it easier to movie.
Microsoft did the same research. Instead of just seeing that people moved the console closer to them they asked why people did that. The answer was the short controller cable. Microsoft added an extra meter to the length on the controller cable and found no one moved the console. All Nintendo's controller cables have been 2 meters. Microsoft went with 3-3.5 meters depending on the region.
