ded serverded gameded life
Shut up Olga, I am bumping for yours sake here, not for normies
Quit about a month ago because of being 2shit at lawyering. Are you guys full circlejerk yet?
How many more OCs did you add?
Any good cases recorded since then?Any cases starting up now?
>>334492828
The circlejerk hasn't happened yet, that one memer that always complained about it seems to have left though.
All characters now must be put in though a strawpoll, so no more OC characters for the most part.
>>334492828
>How many more OCs did you add?
way too fucking many, we have DR shit as well because lupa has no standards
Shall we start a case? What room are we in?
I only play when these /v/ threads come up because I don't like the disgusting circlejerkery of the /vg/ thread.
>>334493092
Area 3 is currently in a case if you want to watch. Recreation room is talking about dark souls or some shit.
There might be a case starting in another area when more people get on.
>>334492993
Shiet, I remember fucking L of all characters getting added, what was up with that.
>>334493092
I do feel kind of nostalgic, so I could dump a couple of hours of my life. What room are we getting in on?
And holy shit, Payne has zoom now.
>>334493516
Area 2, let's get something started.
>>334492324
/vg/ killed the game with tripfags
>>334492828
Only OC that has been added is the kind that are true to the AA style.
>>334493092
>/vg/ thread
>circlejerkery
We try to stop the circlejerk as much as possible, what do you mean?
>>334493516
>what was up with that
I assume it's because we've ran out of quality things to add, so some people try forcing shit content just for the sake of adding it.
I don't think they're used very often though.
This game only goes up and up, in my opinion.
>>334493730
Name one tripfag other then Lupa, who has an actual reason to use a trip since he makes the updates.
>>334493730
>just one tripfag and that's lupadim himself to confirm when updates/changes are coming
>>334493731
>We try to stop the circlejerk as much as possible, what do you mean?
It isn't that you guys are particularly bad, it's just the natural way those threads always go.
>>334493830
Except there's no circle jerk at all?
It feels mostly the same as the old /v/ threads we had before we got moved to /vg/.
>>334493830
I know generals either die or drop in quality, but we've been pretty okay so far.
There's just 3~ cucks that are arrogant and think they're hot stuff.
>>334492324
This looks autsimy.
>>334493975
>>334494075
It is.
But it'sfun
>>334494075
It's actually quite a lot of fun. Just a bunch of /v/irgins having a laugh in ridiculous court cases with little bearing on reality whatsoever.

???
Can I use this thread to bitch about DGS?
I'm still not over it, it still pisses me off and to the point I've gone around to read reviews from many places to see the same thing come up.
"Don't buy DGS until they announce a sequel"
>>334497163
Yeah, that's pretty bullshit.
At least you can play as DGS characters here, it's the closest you're going to get to DGS.
>>334497336
I just want fucking closure man.
DGS's ending is so fucking bullshit with all the open ends.
I really hate the prosecution. Their only real job is to insult the defense, nothing else. Why do they need three positions again?
>>334497163
What does it say?
>"Don't buy DGS until they announce a sequel"
Oh, that? That's dumb.
>>334497163
fucking Japanese players man
>>334497881
>>334497829
It's so true though. The amount of fucking bullshit they cliff hang you with just makes you mad.
>>334498016
No that's false, literally the only cliffhanger is about the contents of the last case's crucial piece of evidence
There is a story and there is a resolution, the game simply left off some mysteries about the overarching story, just like any series of novels does.
If I just enter a courtroom in the client, can I spectate, or do I have to participate? Because I have no clue what I'm doing and I'd like to just watch.
>>334498436
You can just watch and relax, to be honest. Area 0 and the Rec Room are places to talk and practice using the client in the case you don't want to case immediately.
>>334498436
You pick a character when you join the server. To spectate, you just don't say anything in the IC chat.
>>334497336
>prohibition 1 is meh
>prohibition 2 is a failure, valant keeps getting away with it
>prohibition 3 requires athena to go back in time to get the great ace attorney to settle a generational long mafia feud, and it works.
>>334498436
You can spectate, just don't type anything. You may not want to pick important characters that people may use for a case (like defense attornies or prosecutors)
>>334498436
Hey feel free to watch my man. You can even join in before cases are created and after trials end since those are usually free time to discuss things.
So what's the deal, is every case 100% made up on the fly? Is the defendant always "really" not guilty? Or is it 100% pulled from your ass including evidence?
>>334498784
Someone makes a google doc and people work together to make a case, with a case summary, evidence, and a map. Then people fill the roles like defense, prosecution, detective, witness, etc.
It's just like AA, so it's always stacked against the defense.
>>334498784
Everything is made up, but we always establish some ground-rules before the trial, such as the evidence, who is testifying, the map, and the location, as well as the attorneys doing their jobs. We always make sure there's an obvious possible motive, there's always something linking the defendant to the crime, and that there's always multiple ways to interpret it.
The Defendant CAN be guilty. Most of the time they aren't, but I've seen it before.
Evidence CAN be asspulled, we call it 'asspulls', actually, but too much gets a little nuts.
>>334498189
No, I could list like 5 off the top of my head
The first case's motive which was eluded to be explained later is never fucking explained
The morse code bullshit at the end
Why was Barok such a racist cunt, who was the Japanese guy who betrayed him?
No one ever tells Iris her dad died in the first case
Why was Sherlock such a fucking cunt about the hound of baskerville book
Who is A. Sasha
What the fuck is up with Demitri
Oh god I just remembered about two fucking cunts who appeared in the middle of case 4 and says like 3-4 fucking lines that was completely irrelevant to the current case and never appear in the rest of the game
>>334498784
Once a case is finished, there's post-case talking and then case building.
Someone will post a google doc template, people think up a setting/scenario/crime, and then make evidence to suit it.
The defendant being guilty/not guilty is something in the gray area, it doesn't really matter though.
>>334499009
Those are unresolved mysteries, not cliffhangers
Have you literally ever read a novel series?
>>334499109
They shoved most of these things at the end.
Also either or, still doesn't mean its a good thing to have so many, it just leaves the reader frustrated.
>>334499109
The first three AA games were a cohesive overarching plot and left a few frustrating things unsaid (like Franziska's retarded card) but never as much in so little time as DGS did.
Case is starting now. Made up of /v/ users and /vg/ thread-goers. Its in Courtroom 2 is based on Aristotle murdering Plato.
I was wondering, What are the positions your character can be in? I know you change positions in the character ini if you don't want the character to always just stand in the witness box or whatever.
>>334500607
>defendant
>witness
>prosecutor
>judge
>defendant
>>334500607
Change positions by either editing the ini OR typing /pos x into the server chat.
Judge = jud
hld = Defense support
def = Normal defense
pro = Normal prosecution
hlp = Prosecution support
wit = Witness
>>334500937
>>334500953
Thanks for the help.
>>334499294
Still doesn't count as cliffhanger
A cliffhanger in this case would be something like the game ending with Holmes being arrested for being accused of murder or something
>>334499730
>he first three AA games were a cohesive overarching plot
And why wouldn't DGS be the same?
>>334501505
Now you are just arguing semantics. Cliffhanger/unresolved plot points in the massive amount they did is still a shit thing to do
>why wouldn't DGS be the same?
It's not, it doesn't resolve its overarching plot.
>>334501895
>doesn't resolve it's overarching plot
Because it's the first game. The other anon was making a point that it takes AA a trilogy to do it, while DGS only has one game currently.
>>334501895
He said the first three games put together had a cohesive plot, why can't it be the same with the DGS trilogy?
The game has also amazing foreshadowing, we already know there will be a huge case involving the World Expo because of it being causally mentioned plenty of times
>>334501994
Each of the AA games had their own overarching plot.
Take AA3 for example, the first case ties in with the last case completely finishing the loop.
Take DGS for example, the first case has ties to the last case, hinted by the ending, but then they just shrug and go whatever.
>page 9
Remember, never give up, and trust your instincts. Being a lawyer is hard work.
Reminder that there is a case going on about Aristotle killing Plato and the proscution is Roman.
I'm currently sitting in on courtroom 3 and this shit looks pretty damn fun.
