Jeff is great, Vinny is great, Ryan was great. And basically most people were elevated just by having Jeff and Vinny and Ryan fucking around with them.
Ryan is now dead and Jeff and Vinny are separated, but honestly, they still produce good content 2bh. Just rarely as good as the classics.
Ryan was an amazing showrunner and neither Jeff nor Brad are qualified to fill his shoes, professionally or otherwise. Brad hosting the Bombast is s fucking disaster; forget the lack of charisma, the pacing of it is so slow. I could churn through the old hour-and-a-half podcasts without issue, but the three-hour ones they do these days demand a daunting chunk of time and don't do enough to earn real attention.
The real issue, aside from that, is that the self-admitted credo of the site is marketing their personalities; but no one has an appealing personality outside of Jeff, Vinny, and Drew. Jeff and Vinny are separated by a continent, and Jeff and Drew don't really play off of each other well. (When do you see Jeff/Drew content?) So the only hope for good GB content is Vinny flying in for special occasions or working hard enough to make GB East content good, which it is occasionally.
Never mind the fact that their buddy-buddy relations with certain industry members and developers have gotten more uncomfortable than interesting, or the inability to openly say something just sucks like they used to.

Maybe they don't have as much control as I think to do this, but I wish they would try some new things instead of every regular show feeling like a chore.
