Mother 3 felt too disjointed and surreal to be a memorable experience.

Nothing to really debate here, Mother 3 wins easily down.

Anyway, Earthbound has too many pacing issues, but Mother 3 is too linear. Earthbound is le wacky, Mother 3 is the most heavy-handed Marxist story ever. Earthbound makes you grind in the beginning, then is casual the rest of the way. Mother 3 is casual the whole way except for one or two bosses. Earthbound has a really great finale but weak the rest of the time, Mother 3 is great all the way until the end when Itoi gave up.

They're both alright.
