No one loved Batman vs. Superman and Man of Steel wasn't that warmly received either. I actually saw MoS... you know, I like to give Marvel shit for making the same movie over and over again but MoS was one of the least enjoyable movies I ever saw. Not even bad, objectively speaking, but entirely joyless and emotionally unengaging.

I think this is it in a lot of ways. Lots of fluff, garbage he thinks people will love, thoughtless additions that disregard previous works. Genuinely does not get that everything he does is garbage. Still celebrated by a select few.

Don't you put Suda in the same category as Tameem.
Suda is flawed, but he really is a good writer when he wants to be and when he wants to, like NMH1, he can actually design a good video game too. That game may have been simplistic, but it had good combat and some of the best boss fights I've ever fought in a video game.
I've yet to beat killer7, but that game supposedly has a good story as well.
When Suda is on point, he's actually really damn good, but when he's not, it's just a mess. Actually I'm pretty sure he hasn't drected a game since the first NMH, so there's that as well.

Kojima. It's not that they both lack substance entirely, they can make really good scenes individually and are above average at character building, but they both suck at the broad picture (possibly due to the interference of their respective proprietors).
They are still both better than most of the people that occupy their fields.
