So, now that the Doom beta it's out, what are your opinions about it?
I think it'sentertaining.
I think it's an okay game.
Not the best but you can have some good times with it.

I think it's a marvelous game and I can strongly recommend pre-purchasing it along with the seasons pass. You don't wanna miss out those upcoming dlc, oh boy!

It worries me because I was in the boat that snapmap could fix every problem, but the movement itself feels like shit and I doubt that's gonna be changeable. At least I got to try it so I know not to buy it

If I'm not mistaken, you'll be able to choose from multiple demons in your loadout on release. Also I think hosts should have the option to turn those off entirely.

I'm the same, actually doom 2 was my first game ever and i was 5 or even less back then.
The originals were good but there was not so much to it, you just run and shoot, sometimes you pick up medkits and armor.
This looks quite similar to it.

I still play and love the original Doom games.
But the formula is simple, yes;
It's a very fine-tuned Run and Gun. That's all there is to it, really.
Even stuff like Quad damage came from Quake, not Doom.
I don't really hate it.
I came in expecting trash and got a cheap chocolate bar.
I'll buy it when the season pass has ran it's course and Bethesda either drops the price or makes a GOTY version.
I won't even bother because it will be dead within a month on PC

I did the exact same thing 4 times already. People moan about the demon being overpowered but don't even know that !2! counter pick ups spawn at the almost exact same time. If the enemy team controls all 3 at the same time though you are fucked.

I had fun playing the beta with people, but all of us could tell that the game, or at least the multiplayer, is pretty terrible. I can't imagine paying 60 dollars for the game even with the single player content.

Game's a visual fucking mess, only four weapons are viable, Insta-gib powerups are fucking garbage, Hit-Indicators don't exist, Feels slow as fuck, FoV is tiny even at max, melee is laggy as fuck.
Still fun because everyone who plays it are the games target audience, fucking trash shitter kids, and you can stomp the game so badly it's embarrassing to watch. Only good thing about it is running with the Rawket Lawnchair and SSG and getting double kills and quick-draw's on scrublords and doubling the score of the person in 2nd place. Real guilty pleasure because I know the game's garbage.

Quad damage highlights your character in QIII and it even gives all your enemies a wallhack so they can see you in doom. Quad damage boosts your damage but does nothing to your hp.

Doesn't change anything defensive wise to your character and you still have to line up your shot before they frag you.
Not the anon you are replying too but the demon bullshit heals you up, gives you a fuckton more HP and all you have to do is click once in the general direction of any enemy to kill them. Your aim doesn't even have to be on point.
Can you really not see the difference?
When people pick up quad or gauss they'll have other players trying to outflank them to steal what they have. It's just dumb to even attempt it with a demon since they'll always be able to kill you before you kill them, unless they have like 20 hp left.
Everyone just scatters when a demon spawns and try to outrun it for the duration of the timer.

Fuck this piece of shit game. I wanted to play an iD multiplayer game and I got a fucking retarded cod/halo modern consolified shooter. I grew up with Wolfenstein, Doom, Quake 1-3. Loved those games. I could forgive Rage because everyone makes mistakes, but this... Even if the single player is good it's still locked to 60 fucking hz! I have a 144 hz monitor and 60 for me is like 30 fps, it's fucking unbearable. Day 1 pirate but nothing else.

I play the game like a cod where jumping around makes sense, seems to work fine for me.
I've played a few hours of it now. Fairlyfun, but I can see it getting boring quickly. The demons are overpowered and only a few weapons are good, so there isn't much variety.

Also I keep thinking that I'm playing BO3, so the double jump mechanics catch me out when all momentum is lost in midair. The movement really feels bad in this.
Not to mention that push to talk is bound to shift by default, so in every game I have played, people hold it down thinking they're running.
