I thought if I linked that fire I could finally die. After dying over and over feeling the pain of it each time, I just wanted it to end. If linking the fire ends the undead curse even for a moment. I hoped the fire would take me away.

My theory is that every single soul that linked the fire combined into one... the Soul of Cinder. It'd explain why it has so many fighting styles including Gwyn's fighting style. I'm probably wrong but it makes sense if you think about it.

Oh it makes sense, made soul of cinder all the more sad for me. After all those struggles I went through, all the pain, I still couldn't finally die. Some part of me still held on, not like before though, I wasn't trying to get closer to accomplishing something. I didn't have a purpose anymore but some part of me thought that I did. It made me want to beat the lord of cinder even more, after 1000's of years of living in suffering, I wanted to finish my choice, I wanted to finally rest I think I deserved that at the very least.
