Man I love this game but I sucks at it. Partly members are unreliable. Couldn't beat the stupid faggot on a pirate ship or something pretty early on.
I remember reading how Yoko Taro's games (some fanmade tumblr said this) have very strong endgame with Nier used as an example. I haven't played Nier but Drakengard 1 and 3 suffer from tedious gameplay punctuated by a ridiculously demanding and outright unfair rhythm based boss battle. I doubt Nier fares much better in that regard.

People praising it to high heaven seem to forget that literally 50% of the game is unpolished, unfinished and outright weak. In fact Gwyn is the best part of post Londo dark Souls.

the only way to make the game fun if you've been playing for a long time is to restrict yourself. I never level trade so I'm always short on gold. just being a poorfuck sellsword scraping a living battle to battle is the best way to play warband

End game was reduced to mindlessly farming pure RNG based weapons that rendered most craftable weapons obselete. It's also fucking stupid that to get these weapons, Relic armors are cool though, those things are purely optional/for fashion.
Post-game >>> middle-game >>> endgame > opening. Every single time.

Drakengard 3 was an absolute mess on a technical standpoint and made by access games. Nier was made by Cavia, and the game is honestly very fun, its never tedious like D3. It's semi open world with side quests, fishing, boar riding and collecting. Combat is also fun
That said, nier has a very strong end game, and doesnt pull the bullshit drakengard pulls

The level design just becomes generic towards the end and also has an annoying "kill all the egg" quest that you have to do.Also the story was kind of rushed to a very obvious conclusion, like no fucking shit SHODAN was manipulating you.
