Find a flaw.
it's old
640x480
Shoes too big to fill.
>>334404250
It's slow.
>>334404250
It spawned SC2.
Its a shitty macro war.
I don't fucking want to play a game where the best strategy is a rat war with drops and expand rushes.
Good thing Warcraft 3 fixed everything
pathfinding
>>334404250
they didn't kill metzen before sc2
should have shot him in the head after finishing brood war
>>334404250
Set expectations for a sequel too high
>>334404751
Careful not to fall for it.

Amon did it

>>334404250
Really hard to get back into it after SC2.
It aged better than I thought it did but once you have the comfort of high resolution and ergonomic ,the re adaptation phase is harsh.
But that music. That fucking music.

It's fucking glorious
>>334404846
The epilogue was such a fucking mess.
>>334404857
warcraft 3 is a much, much better game overall

>>334404250
Protoss built too slow, Trained to slow and it's units were too expensive to fend off an early game attack.

>not blocking with pylons
>not blocking with probes
One zealot can potentially ward off unlimited amount of zergling if you're not a scrub
Single player is too easy, SC2 did do the campaigns better if you ignore the story bits that have Zeratul/Kerrigan/Amon in.
>>334404250
Blizzard ladder sucked so much people started using 3rd party servers.
I had to build additional pylons.
Protoss have always been my favorite race in Starcraft.
It is because of them, that I found LotV to be actually pretty enjoyable. All those little nods towards the protoss campaigns of SC1 and BW, as well as Blizzard actually staying rather faithfull towards the protoss lore, along with generally well designed missions, made all of it pretty fun to play trough.
Also, Selendis a cute!
CUTE!
horrible unit pathfinding
>>334404250
can't you only select 8 units at once?
that seems like a pretty big flaw
>>334406036
>as well as Blizzard actually staying rather faithfull towards the protoss lore
I hope you die in your sleep
also, faithful has one l
>>334406036
>pretty much no Selendis in LoTV
But hey, at least we got more Artanis. The useless shit that he is, he can't even beat one battlecruiser on his own in that mission where you defend Kerrigan while she's powering up.
>>334406054
Twelve, and that's legitimately what makes it more fun than SC2. Most of SC2 campaign (at least WoL, I've never played the others) can be solved by A-moving your marineblob.

Do you miss enjoying all the shitty MVs?
>>334406178
In comparison to what Blizzard did to the Zerg in SC2, they changed virtually nothing about the protoss in LotV.
The only thing that was altered that comes to my mind, was mostly in relation to the Xel'Naga, with the whole "most of them just seeded life and fucked off back to sleep, while Amon kept fucking with living beings, eventually uplifting the Protoss."
>>334406281
God I hated those epilogue missions.
>>334404250
no options to change resolution to wide screen.
and options not available at the main menu, iirc
>>334406320
sounds like a fundamental problem with mission design rather than a problem with unit selection
>>334404250
unit pathing
>>334406398
>In comparison to what Blizzard did to the Zerg in SC2
Please don't remind me of that fucking catastrophe.
>>334406432
Partially, but not entirely. The problem of making deathblobs and just A-moving them into the enemy is something that's been raised multiple times through the game's competitive scene, especially for Protoss.
The level design of the original feels better, regardless. I played that mod that remade all the original missions in the SC2 engine and they were still pretty fun.
>>334406514
GIB ESSENCE!
>>334406036
I really liked how they used small motifs from the SC1 Protoss music tracks in some random tracks of the LotV OST. It's a small thing but it made me happy that they hadn't forgotten about the music.
>>334406660
If deathblobs are a problem, then they need to take measures to prevent players from forming them, but simply making someone work extra hard to move their units only masks the problem.
>>334404995
they don't make music like that anymore
>>334406660
You could win every zerg mission in SC by sitting in your base and suddenly shoving 144 hydras up the enemies anus. SC2 is much better at encouraging players to be active.
>>334404250
Resolution is really small with no options to change it.
>>334404250
>units move too clunky
the expansion really was great with adding Medics n shit, though
>>334407079
Both SC1 and WC2 soundtracks are solid gold. Still listen to both regularly.

>>334404250
It's not warcraft 3
>>334406826
Certainly, and the fact that all units are selectable at the same time in SC2 is actually a good thing. But SC with its 12-unit limit is just more frantic and rewarding in its gameplay, and to me way more fun.
>>334407148
You completely missed the point.
>>334407457
cause upkeep, and only having small groups of units rather than armies is so fucking great
>>334407583
>But SC with its 12-unit limit is just more frantic and rewarding in its gameplay
considering that the APM in SC2 is still very high, I don't see your point
>>334404751
>>334405039Upkeep
12 units per control group.
Not a flaw, but not fun for massive casuals like myself.
Battle.net was fucking bullshit. Me and my friend took time to dig a trench, PCP pipe, and run cat5e line between our houses so we had a badass LAN, but we could never play StarCraft, WC2, or Diablo online with the same internet connection, so I always had to use dialup. Motherfuckers.
Also SC was probably the only game I bought 3 consecutive times, because it was one of the few games you couldn't find a working No-CD for back in the day, and I fucked my first CD from overuse and another one I lost or some bullshit. Anyway after the StarCraft Battle Chest I never bought and probably will never buy another Blizzard product ever again, and don't regret it.
>>334407854
>I fucked my first CD from overuse
How? I have a game disk I've been using on regular basis since '99 and it's still fine.
>>334408212
I dunno, just happens. CDs are pieces of shit. I spent as long as I could with casettes for music too because I never liked CDs (not that cassette tapes were great either but). Maybe they knew my inherent bias against them and were more fragile out of spite.
>>334404250
BW came out the same year, just a few months after vanilla, and should have been part of the original release.
>>334404995
I hated the fact that they went with cowboy music in sc2, as opposed to "disco music in space" ala sc1.
>>334407437
Same here, love wc2 soundtrack, but wc3 soundtrack is so shitty, its all just ambience.
>>334407854
Wasn't so much a problem of battle.net as an issue with old routers, locally. If you had a decent router it would run fine, or if you segmented your lan between two bad routers (which I did because I was poor) it would also work fine.
>>334408828
>its all just ambience.
SC2 also had this problem. At least they tried to up the ante for LotV and included other kinds of tracks. It's still fairly unmemorable but at least there's something you can get pumped to instead of being just nondescript background muzak.
