No. It's useless, just like all the other spells.
There is one cave in Dragonborn that has a few items that can only be grabbed with telekinesis. Thats the only time I used it.
I sometimes use it to get bags of gold out of spike pits.the true use is to quickly level your alteration

You can just shout/shoot with an arrow those things out. Typical Bethesda design where every build is viable to the extent that other skills/spells are redundant.

I guess it's to account for the naturally recharging magicka, but even with a set of gear that gives you limitless Destruction capabilitiy it takes forever to kill stuff.

Used to be the most powerful thing ever in previous gamesnext to a knife enchanted with 4-5 spell types that had to be recharged every other strike in oblivion. I guess they just had to nerf it eventually.

Destruction magic does relatively weak damage compared to melee and bows but you can spam impact and get enchantments so the spells cost 0 magicka. Mods like Better Magic are useful because they nerf impact while boosting the damage so you don't have to rely on such a boring tactic. It also makes mage armor not shit, thank fuck for mods.
