The dual wielding pope in the ice city is the strongest boss that you have to defeat to make it through the story. Only optional bosses are tougher. There are maybe 2 strong progression bosses.

here I play as a pure cleric with only enough str to wear weapon and no points in hp. So unlike bb I can't just "git gud" it's mostly based on luck

I'm not having any trouble with the bosses (except for Nameless right now, I don't fucking know why). Oneiros, or whatever his name was, was great. I actually had to cheese Lorian with a summon, not because he was hard, but because the run back to him was so fucking stupid.
Speaking of, has anyone noticed a sharp decline in quality following Dancer? The level design, enemy design/placement, the gimmicks--they all feel like the worst moments of DaSII. I was so tired of this game after the secret areas and Lothric Castle. Archives were the last bastion of good design.

Nameless King is the gayest fucking bossfight in the series, literally Bed of Chaos tier trash. That fucking horrendous camera, literally unavoidable fire attack and the lighting shot you can't even roll through or outrun in phase 2.
