I rented it, played all the way through until the final boss fight with CIA where I died about 10 times and finally said fuck it and took the game back. it was 'meh' from beginning to end; time powers were cool but it never felt like they gave you enough time or situations to actually open up and kick ass with them.

How bad are you? The game is easy as fuck on hard mode. I was surprised there was not a 4th even higher difficulty due to how easy it is.

No. I wanted to play it because I love Remedy and Sam Lake, but honestly it looked shit. When there's a win7 workaround I'll try it if my PC can run it. It's not as quick as it used to be.

It would be interesting to know how high the budget for this game was. The production values are very high, it's got a ridiculous TV show with big name actors, and it was in development for 5 years. I imagine it would need to sell 5 million copies to actually make money.

I played that part with the audio on mute becausemy son was taking a nap on the couch right next to me, forgot to turn on subtitles as well so I had no idea what the fuck was going on. really, it was more about me losing interest in beating the game than it was losing patience in the boss' attack patterns. I fucking cherish Remedy, but this game didn't resonate with me at all. really hope we get an Alan Wake sequel someday.

That would make it harder for sure, but there are still some visual cues (although as I recall the sound is an even better indication of how much time you have to dodge)
I liked the game more than Alan Wake overall. I loved the setting and themes of Alan Wake but the combat was pure shit.
