What the hell was up with his anatomy in this form?
As if his anatomy normally made sense.
>>334373697
Does it have to make sense from a real world biology standpoint?
>>334373697
What the fuck is this going to look like in HD?
>>334374995
>>334375162
he had a jewel for a penis??
>>334373697
They were big fleshy growths
Square later made them into big dumb feathered wings because weebs
>>334374676
Good lord, this guy's like 300 percent leg. Fuck, he makes Bayonetta look like she's normally proportioned.
>>334375949
Nah, that belt is at his ribs. In the scene when he's shirtless, he's a little bit better proportioned
Actually, now that I've hunted down this image, you might be right
Could the current Lightning beat Sephiroth in this form alone?
>>334377765
I'd play a game with Lightning as the villain
>>334377850
She already is the villain of the Final Fantasy franchise. She ruined it.
>>334378294
That's like saying Cloud ruined the franchise or FF VII in general.
>>334378483
Cloud did ruin Final Fantasy as a franchise
He was alright in 7 though
>>334379264
>>334373697
that's what happens when you try to be a god and you mutate imitating a "god" form, making his attacks look like being godly too.
It's just a powerful monster
>>334380294
Getting Arkham (DMC3) vibes here.
>>334380589
I never played a dmc game sorry anon

He tries to absorb the power of Sparda, the big demon who was Vergil and Dante's father, but he can't contain it correctly and shifts from Sparda's form into a weird mutated blob monster
>>334377765
Lightning is the most powerful character in Final Fantasy.

When you look at some of the other FF7 art, you'd see that it had a big problem with the leg to torso ratio. It's especially noticeable on Cloud and Tifa.
I really find the cartoon-esque concept art charming.
>>334380916
>Problem
It wasn't a problem. It was a style choice.
>>334373697
Obviously the devs were going for Christian imagery with sephiroth (duh) but since they dont have the cultural connections to Christianity they go right back to the raw text for inspiration.
WIth that in mind he kind of looks like some of the earliest descriptions of angels when they were incomprehensible balls of wings and energy who werent humanoid in the slightest. Early christian mythology is fucking nuts compared to the much more reasonable form it evolved into.
>>334381106
Well, whether people consider a problem or not isn't really an issue to me. It's just an observation that Sephiroth wasn't the only inflicted with it.
>>334381353
It has a lot more to do with Judaism than Christianity, even down to the character names.
>>334381353
the tree of life is jewish imagery
>>334380861
I don't dislike LightningI'd even go so far as to say she's one of my top waifusbut I'm still kinda pissed about that
>>334381353
Pretty much >>334381708
But even in christianity, angels are still not humanoid in the slightest, they can just shapeshift. Some of them don't even have wings.
But Sephiroth reminds me a lot of the Cherubim. Satan was one before his downfall. Their purpose is to worship God and they guard the tree of life. Clearly Sephiroth is still something far below what can be considered a God.
>>334382361
>far below what can be considered a God
Judging how he got beat by a future school shooter, a big tittied hooker, Mr. T, a drunken pilot, two fur fags, a genki slut, and an anime cosplayer, I'd say so
>>334373697
He is supposed to be a Seraphim, the highest order of angels with 6 wings and made out of Light. The Seraph was translated into Safer.
>>334377765
Bhunivelze is more powerful than Sephiroth. She defeated him, so she stands a good chance.
>>334377765
How would a katana-gunblade work?
>>334383907
The blade would fold in half length-wise, the exposed blade would be a double barrel gun. The handle would angle as a fun grip.
>>334373697
Babiis first ff? The angelic/god form is a staple in ff bosses
>>334384559

Isaiah 6
>I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up; and the train[a] of his robe filled the temple. 2 Above him stood the seraphim. Each had six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew.
A common phrase when angels presented themselves to men was "Do not fear."
