upgrades for the mechonics tech monado replica. They're all tougher than zanza anyway. So if you completely restored Colony 6, got all the right abilities for your seven party members, the right gems and the right equips, affinity, skill trees and finally maxed all of their abilities. It'd still be tough to fight these bosses. The same goes for certain monsters like the Deinosarus and those big ass Lake monsters in Makana Forest.

It's a fun challenge and preparing for it only takes 2 or 3 hours. Avalanche Abassy also drops the strongest armor in the game but it's easier to just steal it from the Colony 6 Dragon.

I do need more skill trees but those take forever to get because of all the affinity you need to raise.

Yeah, it was pretty long but despite my usual habit of not finishing games I managed to play it through the end. I think it was because everything was just good enough to stay interesting. Luckily I had no interest in doing the side quests and everything turned out okay.

In the dream after he "dies", he's in space with alvis (monad) again, and it ends with a bright blue light emanating from his chest. After that dream he comes back to life with the replica monado. Imo he already has his monado at this point, all the powers the replicas have are already his own, he just doesn't realize it yet. In the fight against Zanza you can see beams of light coming from everyone converge into Shulk, and the true Monado appears in his hands. It's called Shulk's Monado but it appears that the others had a part in its creation as well.

the game is based on gnosticism, part of that is that an enlightend human could become divine being. It also belives that a persons willpower is the strongest thing in the universe and so in the end Shulks willpower was simply just stronger than Zanzas.
That's probably the basic idea behind it.

You know, I noticed 2 things in that fight. 1. Sharla,Dunban,Reyn,Melia and Riki don't talk during either of the cutscenes besides the very first one but during the second one, when Zanza starts freaking out, you can see Riki charging at him.
Still, I can't believe Zanza said he yearned for friendship with Homs. His actions sure as hell don't spread that message.

Zanza is "that kid" who always has to have the last word on everything and decide what everyone does. Zanza wanted "friends" in the manner that toys are "friends", just playthings that he can mess with and then discard when he grows bored of them. He can't fathom the idea of anyone else being able to make decisions, in his view he is justifiably the god since he technically was responsible for destroying the previous universe and creating the new one. Even then it was the computer who did the actual work, Zanza just pressed the button
