If you aren't too up tight about fashion souls then yeah. Im enjoying it since I got it. Only downside is the god awful weapon art but the moveset is pretty fun if you are used to the slow and steady style it uses similar to Ds1.

Are you really supposed to use it to aim for the head? I don't think I've ever made it work and now that I'm in the swamp anything with a head is like 9ft tall or more.
But the great scythe is pretty great. Started as a sorcerer so I can barely 2h it and its the only weapon I have strong enough to kill those birds before they transform. The strong attack is suprisingly fast too.

Rapier for PvE
Not found a PvP favorite but shotel is doing it for me at low levels.
Meta-level PvP is less interesting for me because people usually have enough in their stats to fast roll with heavier weapons in decent poise armor. One handed and the weaker weapons really fall off later on.
Irithyll Straight Sword for everything. Nothing else is as good. It's easy to wield, uses low stamina, obtainable at the start and it has reliable damage.

no pic but Executioner Greatsword is like a swiss army knife. Quicker than other greatswords, decent damage output, gives back FP, neat sword arts, but cant be infused, so its pretty basic at the same time and the design is simple yet unique. Reliable against every boss.

I used it for a while, wasn't really impressed. My main problem with it was that it's quite slow but doesn't really have the damage to show for it and the moveset has some annoying issues. You'd think a big scythe is great against crowds but none of its attacks hit things even slightly to your right side so when fighting multiple enemies the ones on the right always remain untouched and rape you.

Only time I've been bested by a katana fag is the NPC near the shrine, and I was deprived, and I was still able to run away and not die, despite gettin' my ass parried and shit.
Crystal Sage has bugged out on me three fucking times in a row. This shit is infuriating, especially for such an easy boss.

I can't seem to find a good sword for my cleric build. I tried spears and hate them.
How do I git gud? I am currently past the snow dungeon by some demons and I am getting my ass kicked, soul level 39.

The straight sword weapon arts are so fucking good
My Refined Claymore +7 with 26/22 Str/Dex and Carthus Flame Arc +3 hits dexfags for over 200, and the sweep on the guard breaker art is really good for roll catching

It takes a lot more scaling to be good, +4 and high Str/Dex, the upside is the range and great light weapon art

I've been using these.
They're a bit slower than the sellsword ones, but deal more damage.
I've heard the warden ones are the strongest dual sword weapon, so I'll be getting that one soon.
