Did I miss the wolf covenant NPC in the swamp? I've only cleared the first part where it's not poisonous and killed the Crystal Sage boss. Was getting invaded by wolf bros in that first area nonstop. I just beat Aldritch, where am I supposed to go next? The only possible further areas I'm aware of are the smouldering lake and a "distant mansion" way down past Irithyll.
Also is there something to summoning I'm missing? In the past souls games I never had trouble summoning, whereas now I don't often see any signs, and when I do see them, they almost never summon anyone. Just constant "Unable to summon."
One last and might sound stupid but how to git gud at parrying? I never really got into it much in the other souls games but it seems pretty important in this one, and my weapon of choice utilizes it.

I have a tip for my fellow invaders. Stop dying in five seconds after rushing in only to get stunlocked by the inevitable straight sword R1 spam from the gankfest. I just watched three consecutive invaders die in seconds before I could even move in to assist them. So in the end it was me vs the host and two training wheels plus a smurf.
I have the uncracked redeye orb. I haven't invaded anyone yet, but I'm curious if invading is going to lock me out of any future covenants.

Phase one is pretty easy if you stay close because he whiffs most of his attacks, only need to dodge sometimes. Focus his clone in phase two and do as much damage as possible when he stops to summon. He mirrors his clones actions with about a 1 second delay to try to out range the clone attack then roll in to/through the main boss attack to get damage in

Let go of the stick after you jump, your character should land without rolling and it needs to be positioned well.
Drop down further than that and you can get another item.

The boss fight ain't too bad aside from the fire attack the bird has, thats pure bullshit. I think what triggers that inescapable fire attack is if you hide underneath the bird's belly while its on the ground but I'm not sure. Not sure if thats whats giving you trouble, but if it is, either stay away from its belly(again I'm not if this triggers the fire attack or not) or equip the dragoncrest shield to somewhat block the fire. Aside from that attack, the rest of the boss fight, including its second faze, is purely just roll roll attack shit like you normally do. If you're having trouble with roll roll attack shit the only thing I can tell you is gitgud.

For spells alone maybe not, but you still need to pump some in either dex/str if you want access to more weapons, then you need hp and stamina to keep up with traditional strength and quality builds. I don't think magic builds are useless by any stretch but the barrier to entry is much higher than other builds
