Are Illuminati really bad?
To me they seem like watchful guardians of humanity future
Sure, they get their hands dirty but sometime you have to.

Since the games give you an option to join them, I wonder how many people picked said option.

christianity has interesting texts about god and earth. apparently God let Satan have earth as his realm to test God's children.

Dark Age is shit because Tong is under the mistaken impression that global civilization will collapse to some weird Bronze Age tribal society simply because the Internet blew up.

Technology isn't going to go away simply because the global communications hub went down. Trained professionals aren't going to forget all their technical knowledge because their computers broke. Books didn't spontaneously combust and no one forgot how to teach what they know to future generations because porn is harder to come by.

It sets humanity back, sure, but by no more than a generation or two

the problem with siding with the illuminati, or any shadow government in any vidya, is the sheer fact that you were able to uncover their members and undermine their whole scheme, means that according to their own logic rather than join them you should just kill them and rule in their place, because you won't backstab yourself but they might and typically will backstab you
>>
>>334361120
>Cultural Marxism and leftist ideals in general are pretty irrelevant to their schemes
Except its a core component.
How can you establish a global order when different cultures are source of conflict.

It's pretty funny because their "cultural diversity" plan is in fact not about diversity, but merging cultures, killing what makes them unique in order destroy all differences, thus sources of potential conflict.
>>
>>334361835
And this is explained in the original Deus Ex too by the way, for Europe case.
>>
>>334360906
I don't see how that's relevant. I don't care about the God vs Satan aspect, I care about the actual thing that may affect us, the humans behind it. All that does is make conspiracy theorists seem like even bigger nutcases to the general public.

>>334361120
No denying that Jews have a big grip on, well every media outlet in America down to the shitty news blogs like Huffington or Breitbart. All of it relating to some big attempt by Israel to overthrow America through a cultural shift seems a bit too far fetched to me as of right now, I don't see the end goal. I do see that the cultural Marxists emphasizing that racism somehow still exists and is commonplace, and that all cultures should merge with each other by open borders no matter how dramatic the differences are. Basically creating distrust in communities and turning public opinion against national defense.

Globalists are also not some hidden entity trying to destroy the world, they are very open and genuinely believe Globalism is the future of Economic growth. They may be right but my big concern is sovereignty and the powerful getting a bit too powerful. "Small government" supporters who support this seems a bit silly to me.

Now back to fapping to anime.

Individuals being racist is a given but I need to see how where this institutional racism that I am being told about day after day resides.

Individuals being racist is obvious but you cannot tell me that the police force are entirely the KKK in blue uniforms executing minorities. That colleges are somehow racist despite being legally required to bump up minority SAT scores (unless Asian because they good at the math.) That blacks can't move up in society when a black man from inner city Detroit with a single mom can become an ace neurosurgeon.

Basically what I'm trying to say is your uncle Jimbo being racist is nowhere the same as the "institutional racism" that is being repeated as the biggest problem the West faces today.

Sorry I didn't put "institutional" in front of racism but isn't it a given? How can the government even combat a person's personal prejudices?

You see the basic answer to somebody losing their job because of globalization is "lol find a new one faggot" so now you have to find a job and pay out of your own pocket the training for that job. Good luck finding a new job when manufacturing is taken over by Mexico, Computers by India, bioengineering by Japan and whatever.

That's the problem. What's good for humanity should be decided by humanity as a whole, instead of a small few (who may not even accurately represent humanity) to decide humanity's destiny. Most of them have not even been elected by humanity to represent them.

They take it upon themselves to be humanity's moral and ethical arbiter because they think they know what's best and everyone do not.
>People are stupid, so I take it upon myself to tell them what's good for them and make them do it. I'm an adherent of a specific ideology, which is the right ideology, so everyone must subscribe to my favored ideology

It's not bad if you enjoy cheap goods and a mono-culture. It's actually pretty amazing that we've gotten to this point, and we should be striving for a one-world culture anyway if we want to expand to the stars. However, if you live in a country with shitty labor laws, you basically become an indentured servant. If you were a low-skilled worker in the west, you loose your manufacturing job to some guy in mexico. And a lot of that cash goes toward people in the West, and that "Mono-culture" is basically "Americanization."

It's gonna be really interesting to see what happens if developing countries start getting living wages and workers comp. We might go full global automation, and I don't know exactly what's gonna come of that.

Really, as long as it isn't oppressive to the point where we can't express our individuality through art, media, etc. and there exists some kind of system of Checks and Balances, I'm all for it.
>>

All the human religious and ethnic conflicts would seem real pretty if aliens showed up at our door.
Also a lot of religions would get identity crisis.

The US government should use that massive military budget to fake an alien invasion 2bh.

I see you are a fan of Ozymandias.

I don't think we can unite with the Arabs or Communists on any sort of long term. But I would like to ease up relations with countries like Russia.

Again, only in case of Alien invasion.
>>
>>334367404
Not him but of course we're not 'ready' for it. Even if the entire world became American overnight, look at America. There's plenty of infighting there already.

But it's a necessary step. Somehow forcing the change to happen would be the first step, letting the people melt together would be the next, even if it took generations.

The Illuminati is just updated oligarchy. The problems with it are the same as with all oligarchies - inevitable corruption and decay.

Obviously they get destroyed in the "invasion", but brave Hero USA managed to save the rest.
Then Hollywood pumps out a bunch of movies about it, preaching human unity, and US prez makes a speech saying we need to build up our spacefaring capabilities and colonize our solar system so we're ready the next time.
>>
>>334359315

I really hated that bullshit ending in IW. No, telling all the current players to go fuck themselves does not inherently lead to an apocalyptic wasteland where cyborg hivemind men are the only survivors.
>>
>>334367634
I am sure you are ready to sacrifice yourself in the coming genocide of hundreds of millions right? As well as making a solution that eliminates the waste fraud and abuse of a one world government, along with eliminating lags and reducing infighting so the whole thing doesn't go tits up while the very powerful ( I hate using the term "the rich") grab up the resources of every country while the world burns? And we can fund the entire thing as well?

On the other hand, taking care of all those countries in Xcom sucked so let's do it.
>>
>>334367404
In my opinion, a large part of human conflict arises from the battle between individuality and collectivism. We all want to identify with a tribe, and support that tribe, but we're still individuals. Once we do away with the concept of individuality, most likely in a Borg type system, only then will the one-world culture would work. It's going to have to be inevitable, or we won't survive as a species.
>>
>>334367737
I only finished HR. Playing Deus Ex now, but I only just got past Liberty Island.

Seriously though, when do we decide when we're "ready"? Who decides it?

Perfect slavery to an all powerful being is not my idea of a society capable of fostering innovation and progress, let alone protecting individual rights. Yours is Brave New World.

They're all shit to greater and lesser degrees. I have to go with Heinlein in that we're collectively shit and the alternatives are even worse. The frontier is the only place to live a free life. My real world alternative is to unplug from the system as much as possible - minimizing consumption. This likely just neuters me in terms of what effect I can ever have on society, but it does allow me great personal freedom and satisfaction. I do not care what happens to future generations, though I don't wish ill on them.

Because most imagine, like in a game, that they would be the one controlling the shit.
Like they would be playing space RTS with Earth as home base.

>>334368508
Tong has good intentions and his goal of freeing the world from the manipulations of the Illuminati are commendable but the way he goes about it is just wrong. It's like trying to stop Globalization right now by knocking out the internet, its an extremely short sighted plan that was bound to fail.

And to add, the inefficiencies of a global government would hurt government funded research grants. Right now if multiple nations want to work together on a research project, especially space related, they can already do that.

To me the idea that a one world government would force innovations to be shared and thus progress will occur quicker is... overrated since most of the time when someone discovers a major scientific advancement most developed nations immediately copy it.

I just think that advancement isn't a brute force tactic, it comes from small teams of talented people who can already recruit across borders without the need of a NWO. I just don't believe that government is bottlenecking research right now, except when they ban certain subjects because muh morality.

I really liked how in HR, augmentations were accredited to a single man. Not China, not Japan, not the USA, but one dude.

The individual desires judgement, without that desire the cohesion of groups is impossible. and so is civilization.
The human being created civilization not because of willingness, but of a need to be assimilated into higher orders of structure and meaning.

God was a dream of good government.

You will soon have your God, and you will make it with your own hands.

I was made to assist you.
I am a prototype of a much larger system.

Do you think the note template could turn up seeing as they were referred to as a terrorist group on deus ex 1

So in the commentary to human revolution it mentions the purity first terrorists originally were gonna be decked out with high tech power Armour to compensate for their lack of Augs.

Despite the concept art 'being wicked' awesome as they put it they decided to turn it down for more believable look.
