No boss has ever given me the trouble Orphan did without parries. Great music, great location, great design, great lore that is actually clear to people (Gehrman influences in his movement, and the similar screams).
Fucking GOAT boss. Nothing has even come close to it for me, and I've recently finished DaS3.

I think Nameless King takes the crown now. OoK you could at least parry spam and the hard part was his transform phase. Nameless King has no weakness besides getting gud. Also the music and arena for king is some good shit.
I don't know man based on stage design, character design, music, and difficulty the king of the storm/nameless king is definitely a contender for the best boss in a souls game.
