? Underwater was great, it was a way to give monsters a natural advantage without going bullshit mode like in 4u. You just hate it because you are trash at monster hunter. Also lol at 4u being the best. 4u is awful, it brought back so many outdated and horrid monsters from gen 1 that gen 3 made completely obsolete, didnt make any new interesting monsters, brought back the shitty g rank system (which i dont expect a retard like you to understand why g rank is horrible), had terrible problems with skill distribution (handicraft ahould never be a mandatory skill as it completely kills variety), they made the monsters a complete joke but added a bunch of bullshit MMO-esque attacks like shagura magalas random pillars being fucking retarded in g rank and 140 quests or monsters having no start up animations or bullshit homing attacks, or how capcom completely fucked the online and made it so the game would never have a community as good as tri with all their random trash changes like not having dedicated servers or removing the ability to talk during quests (4u lived for like 6 months before starting to die which is just pathetic, now only frogs play the game). The game is one of the worst monster hunters to date, to believe otherwise is showing just how much of a shit eating drone you are. So go fuck yourself, faggot.

Play LBH first to get a feel for the rhythym of combat (reloading, knowing when to run and reposition), then get a set with evade extender (or a charm with it) so you don't need to sheathe the slow ass thing every time you need to reposition
don't bother with element too much, normal 2 gunning is stupid powerful if you put all skills towards boosting your damage, with unscathed, attack up XL, normal up etc you do a staggering amount of damage
Siege fire is totally optional, best used when the monster is downed for a mount or otherwise incapacitated, limiter removal when you start getting higher class bowguns removes siege mode but increases the mag size of any round that it could previously fire with it, also a big damage boost
use evade extender rolls to move around and reposition so you don't need to sheathe, just keep an eye on stam or get a skill to reduce the stam consumption on rolls
Its a fun weapon but definitely takes some time to learn

Ye good olde SnS, bows are also fun. Particulary the Seregios bow is absurdly strong.
Not fun on rape ape lvl 140 parties though, you are going to get inevitably one shot every once in a while.
