Sword of Destiny is the best book in the series. Geralt has some great character growth in it and his relationship with Yen is anything but shallow which is like what half the book is about. It's not some deep or complex piece of literature but it's not that shallow.

It took me forever to learn that you can use the crossbow underwater. Even longer to realize that quick shot works down there as well.
