I didn't get a 100% block shield until after I beat the boss of the High Wall so I went without it for the first few hours of the game, but now that I'm in the Undead Settlement with one the game has become way too easy with it.

My biggest uncertainties are whether Gwyndolin was alive when consumed, or his divine body was eaten as a corpse. That would clear up timelines a bit given he wasn't hollow, then again we don't know how long the lords live for.
Also, seen as how Aldritch dreamt of Priscilla as a "young girl" when eating Gwyndolin, is it saying Gwyndolin was behind her imprisonment in the painted world?

If you kill the third boss before finding the mound mashers covenant or whatever its called, it locks you out of it until much later in the game. And then if you join the Rosaria's Finger covenant before completing a certain NPC's questline, you're locked out of it completely for that run as far as I know.

im not sure this will work for you since im using a faster weapon but try it anyway.
basically for phase 2 stick on his body as close as possible and just roll time his swings. he will always break after 1-3 swings depending on what pattern hes doing. its basically a free hit everytime. the hardest move to dodge is his charge grab shit cause hitboxes. his swings are really telegraphed and can be framedodged easily.
when he hits 50 he charges up which allows for a good charged heavy hit to chunk him down to 30%

Some questlines will be fucked if you proceed too fast. I lost sorcerer guy because between getting him to come to firelink and beating the next boss(Abyss watchers) I was apparently supposed to wander the fucking swamp while being invaded so I could give him a scroll. You might miss anri and siegwhatever since each of them have one part of their quests that makes it a bitch to find them.
