bloodborne had its problems, but you cant say you didn't have some kind of enjoyment from it. The atmosphere, the trick styled weapons with 2 forms, the vicerals and characters. It was amazing like most of the souls games.
Demon's Souls and Bloodbornes are perfect examples of how great the games can be when focused on one platform.
The Dark Soul's series is utter garbage thanks to From having to focus on multiple platforms and listening to demands from raging manchildren (pc fats).

I don't see a problem with games having mechanics similar to old games if they're competent enough. It's better than yet another open world cash grab with arkham combat and whatever else their checkbox design has.
Not to mention Harvest Moon style games aren't that popular anymore, same for the style of game that Shovel Knight went for, I don't see a problem.
