I started with the second game and honestly may be one of the few to prefer it. Though that may be nostalgia talking. Doesn't really matter where you start, both of the console titles are fantastic and can be played in whatever order, ditto to the GBA games.
Now let this thread die before shit kicks off.
I've been playing through the series recently. The only entries worth playing are 1 (PSX) and 2 (PS2). 1 is an amazing, beautifully crafted game and a must play. 2 is fine, it suffers a bit from being almost a launch title, but it' still good. Definitely not as memorable as 1.
The rest is pure easy garbage puzzle games for little children, don't even try them.

Either start with Klonoa 2 for PS2 or Klonoa for Wii. You can skip the PSX version. The GBA Klonoa games are decent and worth playing as well.

They're nothing alike anon. The GBA games are puzzle games, and boring ones at that. The PS ones are platformers with SOME puzzle elements, but the core gameplay revolves more around skill than puzzle-solving.
