The first person has a 1/5 of losing. The second person has a 1/4 chance of losing multiplied by the odds of the previous people not losing (in this case 4/5), which equals to be 1/5. Next person has a 1/3 chance of losing multiplied by the odds the previous people didn't lose (in this case 3/5) which again equals 1/5. So the odds for everyone are 1/5

What rules do you guys use for Retardy. My friends and I play 2 and the general rules we have are to take a drink for the following:
>Landing on a red space or Bowser space
>Rolling a 1
>Another player rolling a 10
>Losing a minigame or 1v1 duel
>Getting attacked by the board in some way (eg train in Western, laser in Space, cannon in Pirate)
>Landing on the same space as someone (both drink)
When it comes to Boo, we have to drink for the duration of the coins being lost.
Coming last in a 4 player duel game means you have to drink the rest of your drink
Bowser Revolution means everyone has to drink to the level of the lowest drink within the group
At the end, coming 2nd or 3rd is finish your drinks.The overall 4th place player at the end has to drink everyone elses drinks that are leftover

Anyone who disagrees is casual scum. MP1 is 2 on crack in terms of punishing players, which is what Mario Party is all about. 2 is perfect from a gameplay standpoint. 3 is great but Game Guy makes it too easy to get 999 coins, which isn't entirely broken but I'd rather have more aspects that punish players. 4 is dull all around. Everything past 4 I wouldn't even call Mario Party.
If you don't look forward to 50 turn games followed by a regrettable 4am trip to Denny's with your own blistered plams and hoarse voice with 3 friends you're not a fan. Period.

4 was the last game that had a good item shop that allowed you to play strategically. Mega and Mini mushrooms gave you control of the board alongside all the other items that helped you control the game.
4 was also the last (or second to last) Mario party to feature good bonus stars that gave the game added depth by allowing you to aim for additional goals, like most Happening Spaces.
Mario Party 3 had the best boards no question.

Number 1 is the best, number 2 is ok, but the further you go the more watered down they get. In number 1 sometimes games would end with only 1 or 2 stars bought, the players were pit so hard against each other. Grab Bag was my favourite game. After that they constantly try to encourage players to be nice and stop you from fucking each other over. Just makes it boring
6 is the best
