Use the roof to effectively only have to deal with one half of the "boss room" at a time.
It's the fight that checks if you know how to switch lock-on targets. It's not hard, just press <- and -> on the right analog stick.

Locking on in DaS is a huge no-no if you're fighting bigger enemies. The system doesn't really work well if you're fighting with more than one enemy, the camera gets all fucked up and it's far easier to dodge shit when you're not locked on.

Time to stop being a shitter. First, make sure you understand the significance of shield stats, especially stability and type percentages. Second, understand that your rolls have iframes and that you don't need to rely on a shield. Finally, there's a blacksmith 25 feet away from the cathedral to make your weapons not shit.

I always thought the hardest part wasn't any of the bosses but environmental hazards, the most annoying of which being narrow walk ways in new londo/similar places. I hated that place in DaS2 that was basically blight town without the blight.

It is a bit of a crutch, so some people are obviously going to be against it. Unfortunately, some attacks seem to be designed with it in mind. In terms of functionality, lockon fucks with your ability to sprint and move/dodge freely.

You will get a lightning halberd that people like in a few areas. Otherwise I don't know the poke weapons too well. As for fire keeper souls, if you are talking about the one in Blighttown it is on a body, not in a chest. It is with the dogs down the ladder in the small sewer-like area (where there are about 3 poison spitters before you kill them since they don't respawn). Blighttown is basically split into two scaffolding sections with the connecting swamp pit. It is one of the scaffolding areas. I don't really know which one, sorry.

The standard ones are:
large/great club (you can find one club in the swamp pit guarded by rock throwers and the other drops from them - not sure if you have to kill the ones with hammers or not?)
black knight great weapons (you will get these later unless you got lucky when you killed the black knights earlier)
demon's great machete (unless you got lucky this involves some covenant fuckery and traveling or waiting for later)
man serpent great sword (drops in sen's)
If nothing else, you can try zweihander. I have heard some people say they like estoc but it is a quality weapon. There are also a few str weapons that are less used but do obscene damage, such as demon greathammer and dragon tooth.
In short, I would recommend the club on the ground and maybe zwei until you can pick up man serpent great sword from sen's serpent enemies, then use whichever you like most.
