Last night I bought this game and while it was installing, I had an existential crisis and realized that life was meaningless. I've been struggling with depression lately and for some reason at that point it suddenly got worse. I'm a knight and I allocate points evenly in vigor, endurance, vitality, strength and dexterity (because of weapon requirements sometimes), all of which are at about 20 points. I'm level 38ish (I think) and I'm still using my 3+ flame infused broadsword because other weapons require 28+ str.

Can someone explain to me whats happening when I get summoned as a sunbro but it won't let me enter a boss fog gate? I've had it happen 3 times today, once there was a white phantom with me who also couldn't enter.
Am i over or underleveld?
In the undead settlement everything was filled with summon signs, now i'm at the second bonfire in the woods lvl 21 and there're only a few messages
