Really liking the pacing so far. bosses aren't few and far between, and the areas (undead settlement esp) are yuuge. speed of fighting is also much improved to me (at least over DS2). Rolling encouraged, mistakes still punished.
Where am I supposed to go after Cathedral of the Deep? I killed it's boss and every direction I go only seem to give me only weapons or covenants.

I've just beat the Crystal Sage (Gave me the most trouble so far, took me five atempts), and found the first bonfire in the church, but after going further I end up in a graveyard with a bunch of infinite respawning zombies and I'm not at all sure this is the right way.

You have to save the pyromancer in the undead settlement. It's where there are about 3 undead throwing firebombs at you from a platform on a house. Kill them, go up on the entrance to the platform, which is behind the house, and you talk to him in the cage.

MLGS is horrible. It has split damage (Why? I don't know.) and its INT scaling, when fully upgraded, is barely C. Fucking C. It's just not worth using. Get White Dragon Breath instead.
If you're looking for a decent INT weapon, then you might want to consider the Crystal Sage's Rapier or just a Crystal-infused Rapier/Estoc/Straight Sword. Those should help complement your sorceries.

Believe it or not I had the most trouble with Crystal Sage. The fight itself is just Fool's Idol but it hits harder and you can never quite see all of the clones at the same time. Shit took me like four tries. Vordt was ez, I summoned for greatwood because I wanted to experience Jolly Cooperation and abyss watchers were parryable so that made the whole fight nothing up until the second phase. Still got him first try though, he's just Maria on roids.

I think the problem a lot of people have with this fight is not knowing what the fuck you're supposed to do after you've burst all his egg sacks. He's not much danger in the second phase of the fight as long as you keep your distance, since all moves rely on you being pretty close to get hit. Anyway, after about 5 minutes I finally worked out you need to attack his arm/hand. Seems obvious now but at the time I was prettyStumped.

My only major complaint so far is ember mode is fucking unplayable for me. I get invasions so quickly, I can get an additional invasion barely thirty seconds after killing the last dickwraith. Progressing through content in ember mode is impossible

I have a strenght build but when i go to andre for heavy infuse (i have heavy gems) he doesnt give me that option. I can only choose between fire, raw and another one i forgot.

Crystal Sage Rapier is split damage, too, but its scaling is way better and it actually deals a lot more magic damage than physical. It's also got the standard rapier WA, which is really nice. On top of that, it gives you 50 points to your item discovery, so you can find more cool shit.

That entire area seeped Bloodborne influence for me.
The slugs reminded me of the Alien creatures around the Choir Church area. Those big Magewolf thingies with massive fucking clubs looked like cleric beasts.

So, my general progression has been:
Starting area -> Fire Link -> Wall -> Bottom of Wall -> Kill the tree -> Reach the elevator that goes up or down -> bro-op the flame demon -> fuck around and find nothing other than Flynn's Ring -> Go down instead -> Road of Sacrifice -> Fight an old friend -> Fight Crystal Sage.
Did I miss anything big? Was there any point to the place with Flynn's Ring other than an inaccessible shortcut? I felt that taking down a bigass demon would have led to some sort of new area or a cool weapon, not just a ring.

Nah, deprived is a meme class for tryhards. Restart as a knight and take the ring which boosts HP. You'll have a 100% physical block shield, a longsword (Which quite frankly can carry you through the whole game if you keep upgrading it), and some sweet armour. AND you'll still be below 70% equip load so fast rolling too.

Actually, it does make dex scaling better, but it doesn't lose all of it's strength scaling if I remember, it just scales worse with strength.
I can't decide if I want to get strength to 18 and use the shield of want and washing pole or keep strength low and keep using solaire of astora's armor set and shield.

Well, I started as a Knight because that class had good starting VIT and END. I just got my END immediately to 15, then I focused on leveling VIG and DEX, with enough STR to wield DEX-based greatswords and curved greatswords. If you don't plan on using magic, then I suggest just focusing mostly on DEX and VIG. I find that END doesn't really need to go past 15, but you can go to 20-25 if you want to. As for VIT, just level that if you feel like you need the extra equip load.
By the way, make your weapons Sharp when you can. That makes their DEX scaling even better. Stock up on Carthus Rouge as well. That shit will make the Warden's Twinblades bleed out most enemies with a single L2 + R2 combo.

Undead settlement. From the big bonfire with all the enemies and the fat lady go right and cross the bridge. Instead of doing into the barn scale the hill to the right and there are a bunch of midgets shooting at you. Climb onto the rightmost roof farthest away from you and you should see an enemy with a cage on his back. Sneak up on him so you don't aggro him and examine the cage. You'll tp to an npc who gives you the patch.
