I've always been waiting for a chance to get it for cheap (maybe $15 or $20 would be a price I'd consider reasonable), but even used copies on Amazon are still like $25, and with Robobot around the corner I don't really see the need to get it now.
My main gripe with it was that it always looked like RTDL-Lite to me. First impressions of Robobot make it look more like its own unique and standalone title, whereas TD seems more like a "safe" kind of Kirby experience.

Honestly, the mech is the natural evolution of Hypernova. Hypernova from a gameplay standpoint had Kirby interacting similarly to the Super Abilities in RtDL:

It may seem that way, but Kirby is the way he is because of cultural differences. Cute things in Japan aren't necessarily exclusively for children. Yeah it's easy (save for arena and shit like that. The extra modes can be a real challenge) but easy isn't necessarily childish. Adults play easy games too.

The screen *seems* to lock in place when there's a Robobot Armor to assimilate, just like Hypernova, and unlike Super Abilities which you could skip. I'm sure the level difficulty will be balanced around the Armor's power, and at least the Armor looks quick and fun unlike those other two

Originally from KDL3 I think, but they brought him back in RTDL.
The less they have to focus on building a new engine from the ground up, or making entirely new fodder enemies, the more content they can deliver in terms of game length, so I think the amount of content will be nothing to worry about. At least not compared to the standards of any other Kirby game.

True enough on Knuckle Joe but a lot of good enemies have never come back. Burning Leo, TAC, Bugzzy, Simirror, Biospark, GIM, and so on. Blade Knight and Birdo have somehow returned but they've long since abandoned Poppy Bros. Jr and Sr so I'm just confused.
Not sure where to stand on Capsule J2. He's the obvious stand in for the original but he debuted in a remake so I don't know.

It's way better. Magic had, what, 2 or 3 usable attacks? Circus has somersaults, flame hoops, juggling, spinning on a ball, balloon pops, trampolines. Half of those with ridiculous invincibility frames. It's a bit tough to learn but once you shit's insanely fun.

They're bringing back old enemies all the time. No enemy is ever forgotten.
Mumbies from KDL1 came back in RTDL after 19 years.
Blocky from KDL2-3 came back in Mass Attack and Triple Deluxe after 14 years.
Most of the helpers are still around, but we haven't seen Gim, Tac, Bugzzy, or Simirror because those abilities haven't come back yet. Mirror is back so Simirror has a high probability of coming back.
Poppy Bros Jr is back in Triple Deluxe and has been spotted in Robobot.
Capsule J2 was a necessary change because of Twinbee copyrights, but him being back shows they still know about helpers from KSSU.

Smash and Mario kart are the best in there respective genre.
Good SRPG series are nonexistent currently so we can give a free pass to Fire Emblem.
Pikmin is really different from anythign else.
Splatoon is different from pretty much every other shooters.
Metroid, Starfox and F-Zero are all respectable series in there respective genre
Also even if Mario is not the best platformer anymore it is still worthwhile to get a nintendo console for any platformer fans. Simply because of the huge variety available on those consoles, Mario, Kirby, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Rayman, the vast majority of indies platformers.
