The games will most likely just perform better on the upgraded cpu/gpu, but will look the same.

Well let's use an example
Right now the PS4 has to downgrade visuals and the games are still locked under parity while doing so.
Games like the witcher 3 run at 20-30 fps while doing the above and with lower npc count
The new PS4 is said to be 2x as powerful. We know it would be running another APU to keep the costs down so it wouldn't be that much better. At best it might take what it has now and run the same looking games without changing anything at 40-60 fps.
If they want to push for more eyecandy like better shadows and draw distance (which they will) you're back at 1080p and a a solid 30 fps. Course even as it is now there's parity so they might just go an extra step and do games at 20-30 fps with better visuals at 1080p. Likely what they will do which I don't mind since parity is over for a few years and tech can move on.

The PS4K is nowhere near 2x as powerful, there isn't a brand new GPU in this thing. It's more processing mainly. Games will function the exact same as they do now. Shitty performance is what Sony is (I guess) committed to. From what I hear Mocrosoft isn't looking to release a more powerful Xbox either, neither party is about to split their userbase. Once the PS4K is announced, expect Microsoft to announce a model that can play 4K streaming, from there on out its all software, no just games but system level mostly.

MS is likely boned by running nearly every game at 900p vs 1080p on the ps4 and 720p vs 900p on games like battlefront. Last gen both consoles were at least mostly on the same res. They need the upgrade.
