Come on man, it's not that bad. It's actually pretty fun in some places.

I don't get why this game is called shit so often, it's honestly better than most sonic games.

My biggest gripe is the combat. It's slow, unintuitive, and is only there to stop you in your tracks and pad out the game. There's maybe one or two levels I can actually say are somewhat fun. The rest just feels like a chore to play though.

This 100%. Heroes is basically almost entirely "Sonic" levels with minimal bullshit getting in the way. The combat stuff isn't even bad since you can just homing attack everything most of the time. The team mechanics was fast and responsive, and added variety without shitting the whole game down like in say... Unleashed, or '06.

Truthfully I really only got excited for Seaside Hill and Egg Fleet.

Everything else...decent but not memorable.

The pinball tables were pretty fun when the physics didn't shit themselves. Everyone had good dialogue bits on that stage, too, especially Omega.

What really gets me about this particular situation is the Casino level is ALWAYS supposed to be one of the most fun in a Sonic Game. Even in Adventure despite being somewhat barebones it was still an entertaining place to dick about.

In Heroes both levels were a nightmare you wanted to get away from as fast as possible. I just don't understand how they let that happen.
