Not sure about embarrassing. I think it just showed how little a company like Konami actually cares. They were just hoping to cash in for a fast buck on the Silent Hill name is all. It depresses me though because that collection could have been a must own.

Yeah, Sega deserves to be around for all the cool shit they wanted to do. I think the image the always promoted for gaming was the right one and desu when I see the Sega logo on any game I think well of it even today.
That said it's Sega's fault largely for making so many bad business decisions in a row. Still doesn't make it less depressing.

It pretty much was one of the final nails in the coffin of this once great series. In fact it did the two best games in the series a massive injustice. Many people will now have a warped view on how these games were because they first played the HD collection. How is it not depressing?

Because it's so goddamn ridiculous that it happened this way at all that it's more like "No really, how the fuck did you even do this Konami?" How do they just lose the source code? How do they outsource it to some no name dev instead of someone who might be able to salvage it properly? How did they pull off half the mistakes they made? How do they look at the final product and think "Yeah, let's ship this. What could go wrong?" It's a near singularity of WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK.
Also, SH1 is better than 2 & 3.

They didn't even need the source code. Bluepoint, the ones that did the MGS remasters just reverse engineered the games from retail disks. They were just massive fucking jews that didn't want to play the licensing fees for the original voice acting and a well done remaster by someone capable

And in case someone's once again new to this PC gaming stuff: Use a program like DaemonTools Lite to mount the ISOs of 2 & 3, and then run their installers like always.
The SH1 is a PS1 rip that you gotta emulate.
The "sh2proxy" fix works as a no-cd crack as well, and is included in the pack.
In case you experience issues saving the game / not being able to edit the disp.ini, make sure the files aren't set to "Read Only", and run the game as Administrator.
If SH2 gets stuck in a black screen upon launch, close it and re-start it again.
