Motorstorm Apocalypse was supposed to be released in March 2011.
Then Japan got hit by the Earthquake.
So then they decided to postpone the release because it would be too offensive to release a racing game that coincidentally has a bunch of Earthquake related track changes.
The postpone made it lose money and interest.

They canceled the release of Apocalypse in two countries that had big earthquakes, New Zealand and Japan. And then delayed it everywhere else.
Obviously no one was keen on putting focus on advertising a game about a racing game with a bunch of quakes in it so it basically bled money and Motorstorm died. Shame too, Apocalypse is pretty damn good.

It came way faster than I expected and was actually the whole game! Had a lot of fun with it and when I saw the thing released at a store I felt like I would have never lasted the wait and my hype would have left.

I think it was a mix of Arctic Edge and Apocalypse failing.
Fucking no one even remembers Arctic Edge, at least Apocalypse made an impact because the game is just so damn fun.

Arctic Edge was a blast. Probably my favorite soundtrack in the series, or at least tied with PR

It had a great soundtrack imo and an interesting way of unlocking two characters by using photo mode to find stickers, BUT blocking off every other unlockable character behind the win first literally all 100 races pissed me off so bad. I wanted to customize and was 12 tracks away from it.
