This may be more of a /sci/ topic, but why do aspies aspire towards grandiose statements about simple mathematical concepts?

Like Magnasanti (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NTJQTc-TqpU) or that 0.5 presses guy who tried to invent his own terms around faulty logic. Is it because they did bad in school?

And why are normies that inspired by those videos? Because of editing skill? Enough memes crammed together with some simple number crunching?

Are you also guilty of pretending that aspies and autists posess above average intelligence?
>>
I have never met anyone who was inspired by any of this.

Only thing faulty here is your brain.

What does this even mean

Do you have a tinge of the 'tism yourself perhaps?

I provided direct link to one video and mentioned another that's extremely easy to find as well. Do you want me to write a play-by-play post about what they're about because you don't want to watch them but still want to participate?

No he's got a point.

you talk like a fucking fag, and yer shits all fucked up.

Come back when you understand basic communication.
>>
>>333885435
Another thing you may be able to answer - why are aspies so easy to anger? Lack of concentration needed for a non-repetitive effort so a word pattern that doesn't trigger a memetic recognition offends them?
>>
>>333885176
No, I know the things you're referring to, just not how your description fits.

Dude figured out a grid to maximise the population he could have in a city in a video game. Sure, it's insane dedication to a meaningless and trivial pastime, which is how /v/ tends to define autism, but you dismissing it as unimpressive because it's "simple mathematical concepts" strikes me as odd. Like something you might say if you're actually an autistic savant who's unimpressed by calculations he can do in his head and is unable to empathise with people who are at least amused by it.

And I don't even know why you're bringing Mario speedrunning into it because that doesn't even rely on mathematical concepts to impress so one of your only two examples doesn't even apply.
>>
>>333885905
But it is unimpressive because it's flaunting something most people find extremely tedious to do. It's not comparable to autistic savants since they can do something most people could never do.

As for Mario you're plain wrong because the whole 0.5 presses video deals with misguided attempts at explaining basic math / zoning in a made up language.

>But it is unimpressive because it's flaunting something most people find extremely tedious to do.
Which means it requires a lot of effort. Hard work and dedication. Admirable to neurotypicals, but not to you, apparently.

>As for Mario you're plain wrong because the whole 0.5 presses video deals with misguided attempts at explaining basic math / zoning in a made up language.
What, English? Well, technically correct, I suppose.

Making analogies to add interest to a tedious and dry subject is suddenly seen as an affectation?

its really fucking bothering me that shes holding her arm in that weird postition

If time = effort, then sure.

>>333887019
Pretending that your definition holds water just because you changed the concept of the word 'press', of the word 'beginning' and the word 'end', not to mention 'hold' isn't exactly something I would call analogy. At least drop the ogy.

I want her to go away and come back with a second album that's actually good.

holy fuck you are one stupid idiot.
>>
>>333887254
Oh you were talking about the A press stuff? Shit man, I just got meme'd.
>>
>>333887584
There's that and there's another point in the video where he uses the term parallel universes and then underlines how this concept is something hard to grasp for the average viewer, embarking on a simplistic yet lenghty explanation of something that has nothing to do with this extremely complicated concept defined in theoretical physics.

Probably some sort of aspie inferiority complex. Good thing he didn't call himself a quantum mechanic plumbing the depths of a binary star.
>>
>>333887254
Seriously bro, if you can't see the simple appeal of someone spending a lot of time on something that they enjoy doing with some pretty neat results, and if you have such a big problem with people "misusing language" or whatever when they come up with new terminology relevant to their specialisations, I think you might be the autistic one.

He even explains how he arrived at his terminology and the point of it. He's not changing definitions, it's only how you count, for the purposes of minimising A presses. It's a stipulative definition and perfectly congruent.
>>
>>333887914
Holy shit that's the clincher.

Troll or autist, I'm convinced.
>>
>>333887914
>Probably some sort of aspie inferiority complex.
That is a damn good self-diagnosis; I'm jealous, not many people can articulate their own personal deficiencies after only a couple paragraphs of introspection.
>>
>>333887929
>stipulative definition

Every definition is stipulative, however a definition cannot change the already defined meaning of certain concepts if you intend to use them. You can't review a book and call it a video game.

I am arguing about the way something simple as this is presented, not the time spent on achieving it. I notice speedrunners and 'game theorists' always try to present themselves as if doing something few people can grasp.
>>
>>333888389
>Every definition is stipulative, however a definition cannot change the already defined meaning of certain concepts if you intend to use them.
This is literally wrong and missing the whole point of stipulative definitions.

There's a reason people go "for the purposes of this article, I will define X as..." because X can have more than one definition, or a broader definition, or a slightly different definition in regular use. It's for the purposes of that article, so you can work with it and people know what you're working with.
>>
>>333888750
That works only when applied on concepts, not basic physics when said physics is the key to understanding something simple. Hence my objection about poor attempt at self aggrandization.
>>
This thread is almost as bad as that video
>>
>>333888986
Literal autism.
>>
>>333889270
Fuck me for complaining about the complete change of basic word meaning in order for the video to seem deep, right?
