I guess so, Bayonetta 1's boss in size alone really gives it a more grandiose feel, but as a fight I felt it was disappointingly tedious - whether that's better than the last fight of Bayonetta 2, which was better to play but significantly less grandiose, comes down to whether you liked fighting more or the spectacle of huge bosses more.

Bayonetta 2's verses have time limits that are too short to be stylish, which means that getting a good rating involves using the moves that do the most damage.
Not losing magic when you take damage was a mistake and makes obtaining magic too easy.
Making green lollipops not reduce your score was a good move, but making no lollipops reduce your score was a bad idea.
The weapons are definitely more unique and diverse, but they aren't as mechanically deep.
Enemies' constant parrying is an annoying combo breaker that makes the game focus too much on witch time.
Going hand-in-hand, Bayo2 makes witch time necessary, instead of an added bonus for doing well, since you can't hit late-game enemies much without it.
Removing the instant-death QTEs was good. So was fixing the gimmick chapters.
This is subjective, but the soundtrack wasn't as good, and Inferno was boring. The game's toning-down of Bayonetta's sexuality brought down the humor, and the game wasn't as campy as the first either.
Infinite Climax is great though, I hope it's improved in the future.
