From the little I've seen, Battleborn is set to be a bigger, more MOBA-esque or Friday Night Combat themed.
Overwatch is much faster and simpler, with action going on 90% of the time and 10 minute rounds.

Pretty excited for Battleborn open beta tomorrow actually. I've wanted a game that I could just jump into and mess around with.
All these moba games, like dota, or league, or even games like path of exile or CSGO, you can't really just jump on. You have to plan your builds and shit or invest hours of your day into it. Sure I guess you COULD play CSGO, but de_dust2 got boring in the source days. You either play comp to go home.
Battleborn just seems like a decent; "oh hey I got 20 minutes to blow, gunna hop in a game, play with like 4 different heroes and peace out" type of game. I wanted to get into Overwatch, but upon looking at how long its taking to get released, the fact that there is literally SJW shit happening in it, and the fact that there doesn't seem to be anything different than TF2 could give me, I think Battleborn might win this one.
Idk, we'll see how the beta plays out tomorrow with the next week or 2. But honestly I can't seem myself playing Overwatch for longer than a few weeks at most. The gameplay looks so stale after a few matches and it seems pretty casualized for a shooter.

I avoid this just fine by seeking out and researching actually good games, or at the very least games I find enjoyable. Why give a fuck about crap like Fire Watch when I can support actual good indies like Crimzon Clover or Downwell? Fuck I've played H-Games better than some of these indies and AAAs that are lauded at every second. Overwatch is forced sixty dollars on consoles, even though your average console player won't even own any of the games that the deluxe edition gives you content for.
Battleborn has a ten mission single player campaign. Based on the missions in the beta they take around half an hour or so so that's about five hours right there and it's an easy way to unlock certain characters.
All the characters and online modes will be free in Battleborn. I have no idea what the season pass has, but I'm guessing it is early access to new characters as well as costumes as the costumes will cost money.
Neither game should be more than thirty dollars, but both companies will probably get away with it just like Capcom did.

I played the Battleborn Tech Beta and I thought it was okay, but I wasn't crazy about the game mode. I would much rather just have CTF, KotH, or Payload instead of some shitty Dota-esque clone.
