Yea I will. ID published Wolfenstien The New Order and I loved the shit out of that. I played the leaked alpha and the game feel was pretty close.
It ain't going to be an old school shooter, but I'm fine with that. I just want a shooter where I'm doing something other than playing in the US military shooting brown people.

Actually, I remember Doom people on /vr/ being at least somewhat positive. Nobody expects it to replace the originals, but they liked at least some of the stuff. There are already mods to put D4 guns and enemies on the old engine.

And it was not the same footage, where are you getting that from? It was played live. It involved the same maps on the first bit, but had a new area bit in a hellish arena-like level (with the Mancubus) + SnapMap and MP footage

Yes, when shit hit the fan you were running and circle strafing like crazy, dodging projectiles and scampering for health kits while firing everything you had into hordes of roaring monster. But those fights were interspersed by quiet segments of exploring dark, claustrophobic corridors, clenching your shotgun with white knuckles, holding your breath in order to better hear the groans of any hellspawn lying in ambush.

I have the CE pre-ordered. That statue is pretty damn good for a CE.
I get people not liking the multiplayer but the campaign looks like a good, classic style FPS in the vein of Wolfenstein: The New Order/The Old Blood (yes it's a different dev, but they still feel similar, although the guns in Wolfenstein felt better and had more of a punch to them than the weapons in the Doom beta, but that can be fixed) but faster and with no regenerating health. And the melee kills, if they're anything like they were in multiplayer, are context sensitive and won't be doable all the time.
Hell, I don't like playing FPS online but I got sucked into the beta so much that played up until the servers shut off. The Season Pass thing sucks though. It'll divide the community and I'd much rather pay for solid single player content. I'm not much for modding/level editing but SnapMap looks fun and simple enough for a pleb like myself.
I'm excited for the open beta since I've been telling a skeptical friend about it and want him to give it a try. Hopefully they fix the fucking screen tearing on PS4 though. Shit was distracting.
Also, I hope we get surprised with more content since there was a fucking almost 8GB update on PS4. That can't just be bug fixes and the FOV slider and whatnot.
Also I hope we get to keep our multiplayer progress since it's an open beta so I don't have to unlock custom loadouts a third fucking time.

Yes, last levels are pretty long, one of the last arena fights is brutal.
Plus it comes with viscera cleanup detail which is pretty amusing too.
