Nah it majorly changes the way you play, you can be more aggressive and take more enemies at once you upgrade. Where as better armor just means you can get hit a few more times, it's not really enough to change your tactics.

Not exactly. In the case of Dark Souls 3 enemies drop upgrade material all the fucking time so you can just naturally progress through the game and upgrade your weapon of choice without having to grind or spend any time.

It was probably done so because boss armors took twinkling and that is already hard enough to come by just for upgrading special weapons, so they just eliminated it entirely. We'll see if it has any adverse effects or if it does literally nothing. It'd be nice to see more people mess around with more weapons and armor sets rather than getting pigeonholed into using a single loadout the entire game.

Maybe I'm just weird, but I never had a very hard time in DS2. I don't get what the whole shitstorm about "artificial difficulty" is. The only really difficult part of the Dark Souls games is O&S. The games are a lot less challenging than something like Dustforce or Devil Daggers.

It'd established those monsters and the magic in the game are fictitious. They don't exist in the real world so itseasy to belive the rules they set for them. However we have swords and we know about them. The aren't unpopular and dark souls still has some basic physics established that are like our world. It's ridiculous to see a sword defined as a sword especially if it's fucking big and not be thrown off when you are given no reason it should behave differently than the established rules we already know.
