After Ravenholm, I had to force my way through the rest of the game. It just didn't have the wonder of HL1. Less weapon and enemy variety, worse AI and gun feel.
The HL1 community was so much superior to HL2's, but I blame that more on the changing overall vidya scene than just on HL2.

I played Half Life 1 first and still think Half Life 2 is just as good. Each chapter introduces something new to keep it fresh for me. I don't know if you all got tired of it, but I had fun soaking in the environment and seeing what happened to the world.
